Hello
« on: January 17, 2022, 10:46:AM »
Hello! Ralph here,

Retired teacher from Lincs.  Lurked on and off for years and never got round to registering.  With an appeal maybe coming up, thought it was about time I did.  I think he is guilty.  I'm currently going through Carol Ann Lee's book, not read it before. It's brilliant how Carol pulls together all the different threads to show how this evil man did it.  My heart goes out to Colin and the Eatons and Boutflours.

Cheers,
Ralph R.

Thank you for the welcome.  I won't have time to comment often.  I'm going through all the books on the case and may post up comments about them.

Cheers,
Ralph R.

Soon to be revealed as a total work of fiction. The only half decent book on the case is by Scott Lomax. Carol Ann Lee has written probably the worst book. I hope you didn't pay full price.
Cheers

Don't worry Steve, I welcome people's views.  The case against Bamber is strong and should withstand scrutiny.

Cheers,
Ralph R.

Cheers Bill.  Carol's book is the only one I have read (finished it now).  I didn't realise there were others.  Will have to find that one.  Took an interest in the case only after the TV series - which I found pretty damning, honestly.

I think we are dealing with evil here.

Yes there are others and yes we are. The main ones not mentioned thus far are Blood Relations by Roger Wilkes, Murder at White House Farm by Claire Powell and In Search of the Rainbow's End by Colin Caffell.

Much obliged to you Steve.  I had forgotten that Colin wrote a book too.  Will read that one next.  I imagine the Lomax book is very biased.  We'll see.  I'll start a thread about them all one of these days!  Bear with me!

Cheers,
Ralph R.

Ralph, As a former teacher I guess that you appreciate the need to research various sources before reaching a conclusion. You may wish to consider Abebooks as a source of cheaper used versions of books about the case. None of them come close to revealing what actually happened that night, but most are more balanced and better written that the CAL book, which reads as Essex Police propaganda and contains the most ridiculous 'Jeremy did it' scenario that I have ever seen, even barmier than those on this forum. But, it's a free world, it takes all sorts.

Thank you Bill.  I taught D&T but have a degree and always been an avid reader so should have been an English teacher!

Cheerio,
Ralph

I reviewed all the books on one of the best threads on the Forum. The Scott Lomax review is at #1449. https://jeremybamberforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,2787.msg118736.html#msg118736
