As can be seen by reference to this court transcript the log timed at 3:26am was not introduced or relied upon when PC west testified and was cross examined...

According to PC West, after he received (1) the call from Jeremy at 3:36am, (2) he contacted Headquarters information room, and obtained details about the police station which covered the area where WHF was located, and they provided him with information that the area was covered by Witham police station, and that (3) he then contacted Witham and spoke to someone who deployed a police car to the scene...

More information about PC West that could be of relevance:-

Since Jeremy never told PC West that he had in fact tried to contact Witham police station, it begs the question as to whether or not it had been Ralph Bamber who had tried to contact Witham police station, and that this took place before Jeremy made the call to the police which was answered by PC West?

Odd that PC West should inadvertently try to allocate responsibility for a call to Witham police station upon Jeremy, if Jeremy did not attempt to make such a call?

Does this mean that "somebody" made such a call, or tried to make such a call to Witham police station, that PC West was obviously aware of?

We have only been told the identity of the person PC West contacted (Malcolm Bonnet) not the identity of the other person who PC West claims he contacted at Witham?

Could be an important factor?

PC West information:-

Nobody seems the slightest but interested in trying to identify the person who PC West spoke to at Witham police station?

Why?

Forgive me if I have got this wrong but I was under the impression that it had been Malcolm Bonnet who had deployed the police to the scene, but is PC West saying in his evidence that he gave to the court that police were deployed to the scene by someone in the information room at Witham?

I will have to look more closely at this feature....

Intriguing.  Is this the first time this has come to your attention?  Or do you already know a bit more?

Well, PC West told the court that he spoke to an officer at Witham, but that officer has never yet been identified...

He also said that when he spoke to the officer at Witham police station, that he used the police radio link, not a telephone on the exchange line...

Why has the identity of the officer who PC West spoke to at Witham been withheld - since that person could have provided valuable information about the timing of the call, and more importantly what PC West told him?

By 22nd September 1985, police were thinking about time of call made by Jeremy to PC West?
