Nevill said to Bamber 'Sheila's gone crazy and she's got the gun'.

Not my point.

It's pretty straight forward procedure to call for armed back up. Once Bamber had spent a few minutes  insinuating what the situation was inside WHF.

Unfortunately for supporters.
'Only I know what really happened that night'.

Its very hard work with some, I’m not going to spend my time explaining anymore, if people can’t read statements for themselves so be it?

It does not help when Bews tells a different story every time I see him, it was such an important moment that night, in those days you did not call out armed backup very often and Bews and Myall do not even mention it in their statements!

Bews & Co. park a fair way away from the house, and while walking around see a reflection and run, I think they knew the situation was serious not just a domestic before they arrived?

Wests time in his log was correct I believe, there was a earlier call from Nevil.
Rob, please read West’s court testimony and statement, it tells you what Bamber told him and what message he passed on to Witham (Bews)

Nevill would have explained the situation when he rang EP, which is why they kept their distance from the property when they arrived. Due to Nevill's call, EP were up to speed with the amount/makes of guns etc. kept at the farmhouse---which JB hadn't mentioned in his call to them ?

Only Bews asked Jeremy on arrival what was going on, as if he didn't know, and strangely later in the same conversation asked Jeremy if there were any guns in the house.  This is all from Bews' first statement.

Im going by this. Doesn’t matter one bit, a police officer would want to question first hand anyway.  Getting it himself from Bamber was the right thing to do.  Sometimes Police officers ask the same questions over again to catch someone out or reaffirm what they were told.  Asking how many and what type is different to someone saying theirs guns in the house.

Yes, that’s fine, but in 1985 things were different to nowadays when armed police show up to every incident. In 5 years I only saw it once. It suggests to me that Bews must have seen Sheila armed with a rifle at the bedroom window. I can’t think of any other reason to run back to CA7. If he didn’t see her in the window then he had no reason to call up the cavalry. Besides, Bews lies every time he opens his mouth!

As a former police officer do you have access to the operations/training manual?  Surely this will set out under what circumstances firearms are called upon?

If you think PS Bews saw Sheila armed with a rifle at the bedroom window have you any ideas why Bamber didn't mention in his witness statement, police interviews, trial, 2002 appeal, 2012 submission?  And when he exchanged correspondence with Colin Caffell post trial, where Colin asked him to reveal what happened, why didn't he mention then?

Seems to me PS Bews is a peripheral figure.  Maybe he just can't recall all the detail as opposed to deliberately setting out to deceive.

My understanding is that nobody has claimed that anybody saw a figure at the bedroom window.  The claim is that there was movement at the bedroom window.

 ;D ;D ;D

I can hear a pin drop. Try the alias April

You appear to be talking to yourself. Dementia perhaps? April an alias? I don't think so. I've never used a name which hasn't been my given name. Is that your explanation for your change from Jackie Preece to JackieD?

I realise all that.  I just find it strange that he arrived and affected not to know anything, and then even after Jeremy had told him about Nevill saying Sheila had the gun, he asked Jeremy if there are guns in the house.  It's in his statement.  I accept it may just be clumsiness of expression in the statement  I appreciate the statement won't necessarily reflect what was precisely said.  It's more a gist or summary.

I'm talking about the people directly involved.  If Jeremy now says that Bews must have seen this, it can only be that Jeremy is inferring that.  He can't know that, and importantly, this also implies that Jeremy saw nothing.

I think it was a 'trick of the light' which Bews et al recaptured by moving back and forth to satisfy themselves.  Bamber saw what they did and agreed.  Hence he didn't mention in his witness statments, police interviews, trial, 2002 appeal, 2012 submission and many other opportunities he has since had to mention eg interview with David James Smith.
