This is idiotic and it's pointless continuing.

You know any father, grandfather, husband & head of family would instantly negate any dangerous situation. Even if putting himself in danger.

As it happened, Nevill was in minimal danger & would know he would negate the situation within seconds.

Sheila standing bare footed in a nightdress holding a rifle is an image I can never imagine.

Nevill fully fit,  deciding to leave a message on Bamber's answering machine is the strangest suggestion I have ever heard.

Yes it's really quite ridiculous. Was Jeremy prepared for anyone to dissect his tale?

I thought Jeremy said he answered the phone?  I doubt Nevill would have rung just to leave a message.  I think the hope was that Jeremy would answer.

Adam has yet to persuade anyone of Jeremy being guilty. I suspect he has not even convinced himself.

Bamber would leave his answering machine on 24/7. As everyone does.

There was no possibility he would have got to the phone before the answering machine answered.

If Nevill thought there was a threat to his family & himself, he would instantly negate the situation while fully fit.

He would have no other option.

Not everybody does.  It varies from person-to-person.  People will often leave their answerphone off during the night as they'd want to be woken by an emergency/important call, whereas they'd switched it on before going out or on holiday, etc.

You generally can still pick up the landline phone even after it has been answered by the answering machine.

My parents used to turn the answering off whenever we got home and back on before we left.

Adam has to resort to making things up.

Yeah right. Did they put the plug back into the TV socket as well?

Always important to be able to answer potential important 3am calls.

Bamber has never said whether he turned the answering machine off when arriving home. Or whether he answered the phone before the answering machine switched on.

One was impossible. The other very suspiscious.

Yes, it is.  Thanks Adam.

Do you not believe a fully fit Nevill would instantly reclaim the rifle if in either of these two situations -

Sheila had the rifle & looked to be a threat to his family, herself & him.

Sheila had the rifle but was not being threatening with it.

He had no other options & no obstacles.
