Hi sami think one of the dogs (Bruce I think is the name) was kept outside in a shed for the night you would think he would have barked if JB was breaking into the house x

Hello Susan, I’m pretty sure it was Ann Eaton who had Crispy put down. Think he was offered to Jeremy but he didn’t want him so Ann Eaton decided he should be put down.  Think he was very old and possibly not that well.  If only he could have spoken, poor old boy.

Maybe he decided to have poor crispy put down because he thought he’d fired the second shot Maggie?  Don’t agree for anyone putting an animal down because of age, either Anne or Jeremy.

Any case I would say Jeremy had the final call on Crispy if he wanted, wasn’t up to Anne if he decided other wise.

Hi Maggie such a sad state of affairs when an animal is put to sleep. In this day and age as I understand it a Vet will not perform this act unless he considers this necessary different then I think Crispy was old and grumpy biting people  :(

Post murders, Jeremy was hardly at home long enough to care for him. Another millstone?

Talking about it biting people, it used to bite Jeremy so why wasn't Jeremy covered in bites around his ankles ? Why didn't Jeremy shoot the dog seeing as he'd " killed " all those humans ? I don't get it.

AE must have felt the same way as she didn't want it either, but went one step further in suggesting euthanasia . Nice.

It depends what their state of health is imo.  I have seen people keeping very old animals alive when they are obviously unwell and in pain, think that is cruel.  I remember ngb stating it was Ann Eaton’s decision to have Crispy put down, true Jeremy did not want him as it’s said they didn’t get on and Crispy was snappy and bad tempered but he did not choose to have him put down.  Following from that, it does seem a bit strange Jeremy killed 5 members of his family but not the dog he disliked.

I agree it doesn’t seem to make sense lookout.  Suppose there’s always the possibility Crispy may have run away and hidden.

I agree, it’s always sad to have an animal put down but if Crispy was old and unwell and you were in a state of shock with no one to care for him properly it may have been the only answer.
