Most don't - some do but Jeremy was more motivated by receiving his inheritance early. I do think something that happened that day was the catalyst though.

Of course it's possible - although highly unlikely he called at all.
Possibly the conversation in the fields Caroline? I think he deduced given his sister's state how easily his diabolical plan might be realized.

Would they really know?
But he's not going to risk it, surely?

Why not? Just wait until the neighbours close their curtains. With the TV no one would hear. I don't take notice or hear my neighbours if they leave at night.

Personally, I think he went on foot, across the fields.

There was a statement somewhere about a bloke seeing a bicycle on the road ridden by a man but I can't recall now exactly what was said.

No because what difference would bringing an individual to the scene who was not congenial? It smacks of an attempt to concoct an alibi and as I say was the weakest part of his plan.

I don't understand your post. Why would Nevill not phone his son if Sheila had a gun? If she was merely holding it and making threats to herself or others, Nevill might not have thought it was a police matter.

I'm sure some of you here will be taking shortly a leaf out of lookout's book..

I've written quite a few letters and sent B/Day and Christmas cards as well. He'll be getting another letter, stamps included, showing my support for keeping his case going and reminding the world that he remains an innocent victim in all this. Positive vibes from me, no need to ask him questions, what for when he's done nothing ?

In my very first letter years ago I told him that I wasn't going to remind him what had happened but I did tell him from the start that I'd known in 1985 that it wasn't he who had committed the crime. My letters just consist of light-hearted news. I've avoided saying how disgusted I am with the justice system.

Not me. I've always said on here that I'm on the fence. I'm not totally convinced that Jeremy is guilty, and I'm not totally convinced that he's innocent. I've made several posts contradicting the "Jeremy is innocent"ones. You shouldn't think in black and white so much. It's OK for people to not take one side or another.

I'm really talking about whether it's possible that Nevill phoned Jeremy from a forensic point of view. Several people have said he couldn't have done because there would be blood on the phone, or because he couldn't have spoken with his injuries, but he could have phoned Jeremy before there was any violence at all.

Re the motive, it's easy to put it down to money, but loads of people have expectations of an inheritance and they don't kill to get it. Some do just that of course.

Oh I agree that it can't be proved. I'm just going against all the assumptions made by others that it couldn't have happened.

When did Jeremy ever ameliorate any social situation? I rest my case.

Steve, I really can't understand why I'm castigated for supporting what I believe in.
Why has this " baying for blood " mentality reared its ugly head whenever someone happens to have a different point of view no matter what the argument/discussion is about ? It's become like a cancer spreading in every aspect of life, the anger we see on the streets, protesters bashing each other, Westminster going at it hammer and tongs, it's everywhere. Anger--Hatred--Why why why ?

I couldn't muster up any anger if I tried. Frustration maybe but certainly not anger as it does nothing for the well-being of which I'm particularly careful about.

I still don't understand your post. This wasn't a social situation. I don't suppose Nevill expected to find himself in a position where one of his children got hold of a gun in a sinister manner. Why would he not phone Jeremy? They hadn't fallen out that evening.

When did any 24 year old ?
