Currently in Storage at Huntingdon Lab' remain a total of 14 Spent Cartridge Cases which originally formed part of the original batch of Crime Scene ammunition...

Officially, these cartridge cases were  disassociated from their involvement in the shootings, they having been replaced by 14 test fired cartridge cases which originally formed as part of exhibit DRH/42, these 14 Spent Cartridge Cases, thereafter, becoming part and parcel of the batch of Crime Scene Ammunition, which has all since been destroyed by Essex Police...

It’s so annoying that they destroyed the shell casings. It’s not like they take up much room.  >:(

Those cases should have been retained when the case was turned on its head to a murder. There's no excuse. It's a disgrace !
I can't imagine the public in general being best-pleased if it was them in the dock let alone those who are doing time where evidence was destroyed.
If a GP lost your notes you wouldn't sit back and say never mind--------or would you ? Makes me wonder.!
