I had the privilege of handling Eley .22 LR subsonic ammunition at Birdwell armoury in 2003/2004, and they were dry as a bone, they were not coated in oil or residue! This was prior to test firings in an anshuzt rifle with a 17 baffled Parker hale silencer by Glen Smith and Keith Mallinson! There is no guarantee that all of these types of .22 ammunition were coated in oil or residue as claimed by the prosecutions lab volunteers!

What is also stranger, is that when Renshaw attended the armoury to do test firing of the same ammunition through a different variety of .22 semi automatic rifles fitted with, and without a silencer, he did not complain or show any signs in or on his hands of oil or residue associated with handling around 150 rounds of Eley .22 LR subsonic ammunition during or after the aforementioned testing had been completed!

He makes no mention in his report about oil and residue on his hands or fingers through handling the bullets he test fired!
