It was only speculated that the rifle was used to beat Nevill. Pokers, iron bars were others to name a couple.

i think they summised the rifle was the weapon used in the kitchen fight because a chunk of the stock had been found in the kitchen

If one or more adults woke he would have just 3 bullets left to confront them.

But if he did shoot them first and got away with it, the evidence shows Sheila didn't wake and go into the main bedroom. As there was none of June's blood all over her hands and feet.

Bamber supporters have to admit the evidence shows June and the twins slept through a loud Sheila massacre. All three were shot multiple times with their heads on the pillow. So I don't know why supporters say Sheila would have woken in Bamber's relatively quiet massacre.
