Yes well put Jane. Colin would craft with his hands and not really care if his work was appreciated by others. June was stiff and scripted, possibly intimidated by her elder sister Pamela and longing to fit into the social conventions of the times.

He saw how her mental health deteriorated every time she returned from a visit to White House Farm due to her constant self-questioning and low self-esteem. June also arranged for an abortion which Colin felt Sheila was pressured into agreeing to.
