Did Bamber choose the wrong room to shoot Sheila ?
« on: November 18, 2015, 11:26:AM »
I've never given Sheila's body location much thought.

The main bedroom seemed as good a place as any to kill her.  There was plenty of room on the far side of that room. It was also near Sheila's bedroom.

Shooting Sheila in her bedroom would make it seem like she had not left the room. While taking Sheila all the way downstairs next to Neville would be much more difficult.

So it was either the main bedroom, or the room the twins were in.

CC said Sheila would be more likely to commit suicide in her twins room. This does Bamber no favours but Sheila's body location was not an issue discussed at trial to suggest guilt or innocence.

Do other people believe Bamber made a big mistake in choosing the main bedroom. Or that the issue does not highlight guilt or innocence ?

I'm unsure, he may have had to shoot her there for whatever reason. Or he may have planned to shoot her there for reasons never fully understood, I think the only person he needed to make sure wasn't shot and killed in a bedroom was Ralph.

It's sounding more like a scene from " Midsummer Murders " by the day as theories are changing like the weather.
The whole thing's in danger of becoming a Brian Rix farce !
How can there be a " wrong room " for a murder ?

Neville was shot four times in the main bedroom. In and around the head. Bamber was going for the kill.

Trying to lead Neville downstairs was much too risky. He could create a murder/suicide frame crime scene without having to do this.

Yes, I know, Adam.

But Bamber wanted Nevilles presence in the kitchen - due to the phonecall, to add credence to it. Although with the injuries that Neville sustained in the bedroom I do find it highly unlikely Neville was

1. Able to use the phone.
2. Would use the phone and not mention his serious injuries.

Bamber may have planned to kill Sheila in the twins room. But Neville being downstairs meant there was room in the main bedroom. So Sheila was killed there.

He could just plug the phone into the bedroom socket and take it off the hook.

Then claim Neville must have phoned him there.

There are, now, what may be valid doubts about that. None of his blood seems to have been found there.

He may have chosen to do one of several things. What he WON'T have chosen to do is commit a massacre to make it fit with what you want it to be to make your theories correct.
