Jeremy and the shot gun:
« on: December 03, 2014, 09:18:AM »
Ann Eaton testified that Jeremy asked her and her husband about buying a five bullet shot gun from them. This was just before the massacre.

The advantages of this is one bullet results in certain death. Whether in the head or torso. So no re loads needed if each bullet hits it target.

It is much more realistic that Neville would be worried about Sheila with a shot gun.

Jeremy would have to justify why his shot gun was at WHF. That would not be hard. As he worked there & it was his family home.

The gun would carry less bullets, so a potential re load if any bullets missed.  But he would have time to re load if Neville was out of the way. However if no re loads were needed, that would make it more likely Sheila was the killer. People have always found it hard believing Sheila could re load.

A shot gun is loud. And I am not sure a silencer can fit on one. But if Jeremy is quick and clinical, then people would be dead before fully waking up.

Using the shot gun means there are no rabbit stories. But that has never been believable.

I suspect Jeremy got too short notice about Sheila's visit. So had no time to purchase the gun. Using the rifle instead. Or he may have simply preferred the rifle, preferring the extra bullets, overestimating it's power & having thought up the rabbit story.

Would other people use a shot gun or rifle ?

Well he choose the rifle. Both have there advantages and disadvantages.

Maybe buying a shot gun was too expensive. Neville may have been paying for Jeremy's petrol. But I doubt he would buy him a shot gun. He may die in a shooting accident.

A shot gun without a silencer means no silencer for the relatives to find. But they have said there was enough evidence anyway. Mind you if the shot gun without a silencer was too long for Sheila, then he would be in a pickle.

Hello Adam could you please remind me of the evidence if you take the silencer out of the equation.

Shouldn't that be Sheila and the shotgun ? Her prints were on it---------not Jeremys.

I'd have done the same as you Susan.
I've mentioned before that I have a spider-catcher which scoops it up and then I put it in the garden ( probably for it to come back again )  ;D ;D ;D ;D

If it was as big as the one in Harry Potter then I'd have a jolly good go at killing it.

New shot guns are quite expensive. I just did some research.

Jeremy probably decided why pay when there is a rifle available for free. He probably sussed AE & her husband out to see if they could get him a big reduction.

The legend tells us that one has to speculate to accumulate, ergo it's odd that he wouldn't be prepared to lay out a few hundred pounds when he was assured of triple figure thousands.
