Alias, much as I really, REALLY don't want to, I have to agree with you. I sincerely hope this pessimism is a passing thing, knowing me, it probably is
but this without doubt is probably one of the hottest political potatoes EVER and IMO, if the truth of Jeremy's innocence is out there, somebody already knows and is taking OR has already taken steps to prevent it coming out, which leaves the, to my mind, undesirable possibility of getting him out on a technicality, which at the moment I think is unlikely. I'm sure I'll feel more like myself tomorrow :D :D :D
If there is not much public interest about the case in Britain (no celebs speaking up for Jeremy, lots of press, etc), nothing will happen. There needs to be SUBSTANTIAL pressure to get things moving, and there just isn´t.
I don´t think I will regain any positivity when it comes to this case. Sorry to say. It has been years and years, nothing has happened, not many care, and even less know about the dodgy "evidence" used in the trial to convict a possibly innocent man. People simply don´t care to educate themselves about the case - it is too complicated.
Relatives who gain EVERYTHING find the main piece of evidence to convict Bamber after police HAD searched WHF, take it home, handle it, maybe unscrew it, scrape blood off with a razor blade (they say). have differing stories about how it was found, keep it for a while, THEN turn it over to police who use it as a paper weight on their desk. There ought to be an outcry - there just isn´t.
