Why were tests carried out in the US and not here?

because i do not think ballistics is a field we are good at gun crime is supposed to be rare here commonplace in the USA .

I have met Colin.

It is absolutely the case that he does not and will never believe that Sheila was capable or had any knowledge whatsoever of the .22 rifle.

He was also treated very badly by Jeremy after the murders and had great difficulty in obtaining anything from Jeremy to remember the twins by.

Jeremy immediately moved Brett Collins into Sheila's house in London, stripped the twins' room and failed to keep a number of appointments for Colin to collect their things.

As I understand it, Colin went on holiday overseas following the murders. He had a quite understandable wish to escape, as did Jeremy - though Jeremy was castigated by anti JBs for needing to escape at that time.

So both Jeremy and Colin were on holiday for part of the month following the murders prior to Jeremy's interviews and arrest by the police.

I've read that, Colin did not contact Jeremy for a time following his return form holiday to let Jeremy know which of the twins' things he wished to keep. Perhaps Jeremy wrongly gained the impression that it was too painful for Colin to contemplate having any of the boys things? We're all different in this respect. Some people keep everything, others, as my mother did when my father died find having mementos of the deceased loved one around them too painful and dispose of everything.

Also, considering the murders happened in early August, that both Jeremy and Colin were on holiday for part of the short period prior to Jeremy's arrest, that the funerals were arranged and held during this period, that Jeremy had to sort out the 101 and one things that require doing when a relation dies and that Jeremy was interviewed in early September, then released, then arrested on his return from holiday, Jeremy did not really have much time to sort out everything he needed to following the deaths, did he?

One point about those photographs. Am I correct in thinking that Colin took some of those nude pictures of Sheila when she was a naive, 17 year old country girl and Colin was a 21 year old, more worldy wise Londoner?

I cant remember to be honest,i cant even remember where i first saw it, it could be in one of the books,i havent read them for a while.

I concur.

My personal opinion is it has always been the case only Jeremy really knows and nothing will ever change in that regard whether he remains in prison or is released on appeal.

It could be Jeremy remains in prison knowing he is guilty.

It could be Jeremy remains in prison knowing he is innocent.

It could be Jeremy has his conviction quashed on appeal knowing he is guilty.

It could be Jeremy has his conviction quashed on appeal knowing he is innocent.

I though this a fair summary, and (bold) what a lonely place to be!!

Jeremy may to some come over a cold selfish, i do feel he wanted nothing to do with children and did not want any , that does not mean he murdered them, ive lost count of how many children have been killed this month all by the looks of it by the father/mother.

Do you not think this post is unjustly one sided?

Jeremy as a young man was clearly an obnoxious person at times - as so many 24 year olds are. But that does not make him a murderer.

He certainly wasn't the only obnoxious young man involved in this case. Colin as a young man also did things that I imagine he is ashamed of now.

Colin has been able to redeem himself as a mature adult, whereas Jeremy has had little opportunity for this, save through his staunch campaign to prove his innocence.

Yes, but this reporter actually met with, and interviewed JB in prison (rare stuff).

However, I was really highlighting the point that no one can be 100% certain of JB's guilt or innocence - JB is the only one that really knows!
