But why wouldn't JB just leave the digital phone in the kitchen off the hook instead of hiding it, Jonathan?

He needed a reason for Nevill to be in the kitchen - there wouldn't be one if Nevill had a phone in his bedroom.

Yes, hear hear, Cutie! Once he came round from lying against the Aga!

Stop being silly and spend your time on some research about looking after the birds in your garden.

But how could Nevill make a phone call while being shot at, Jonathan?

I have already told you that.

Bamber is the only person who knows. Although he has probably forgotten the reasons.

There's no evidence he has any understanding of the soc evidence.

Nevill using a rotary phone to phone an upstairs sleeping 'like a log' Bamber after he had been shot 4 times, would have been the longest call of his life. Although he only said 11 words.

He was lucky Sheila did not chase him downstairs.

As said, a fully fit June could phone 999 or whoever she wanted from the bedroom.

In a pre shot invented scenario.

NB was in the kitchen and made the call to JB before any shots were fired.

NB was in the kitchen and made the call to JB before any shots were fired.

Invented conversations are not allowed at trial.

This would be espescially right here as Nevill would instantly negate any escalation.

Nevill and Sheila were found bare footed in sleeping attire. They had abruptly got out of bed.

Running for his life or to obtain a weapon so he could try and save his wife and the boys?

The totality of the physical evidence supports:

- NB calls JB from the cream phone in the kitchen
- SC runs upstairs and shoots June in bed 5 or 6 times (5 or 6 because the spent bullets and casings having not been properly accounted for)
- NB drops the receiver on the worktop and runs upstairs
- SC shoots out onto the landing at NB where he sustains his 2 x facial shots
- NB turns to retreat downstairs
- SC follows and inflicts NB's elbow/chest and shoulder gunshot wound whilst the pair are positioned on the staircase
- NB enters the kitchen and ends up in the chair.  He attempts to shield himself from SC who is raining down blows with the rifle.

Ir is a surprise that after being shot 4 times in/by his bed, but able to get downstairs, he chose to start phoning Jeremy on a rotary phone. At 3.10am.

He could have picked up a chair or stool and cornered Sheila.

How could Jeremy's presence at the scene ameliorate the situation? Answers on a postcard.
