Obviously Bamber cycled The Sea Wall. Quick, easy & avoiding properties.
Hypothetical - If the terrain had made it not possible to cycle this, he had 2 alternatives -
Make the 8.4 mile Sea Wall round trip on foot. Which would have taken at least 140 minutes. This still avoids properties but would be very tiring.
Cycle the Brook House Farm route. This is a round trip of less than 30 minutes & 5.6 miles. The terrain was perfect & he would expend minimal energy. But he does pass properties.
A more direct route of walking across the fields was not possible.
