I come back to this question over and over when considering this case.
We all know who Jeremy's biological parents were, by now, I think.
But Sheila?
I know that I have read that weeks before the family were killed at
W.H.F that Sheila's unnamed Mother flew over from Canada to see her
for the first time.
But nowhere have I been able to find out the identity of Sheila's Mother and Father.
Anyone else puzzled by this or know anything about their identities?
-
in colins book he reffers to sheilas mother as christine, not sure if thats her real name though.
sheilas natural uncle attended sheilas funeral. he was called peter jay.
-
Thank you Andrea.
It has perplexed me for a long time that I can find no
trace of them.
I wonder if her Uncle was Maternal or Paternal?
-
ooh im not sure, when i get my book back ill let you know summer. :)
-
Thanks again.
-
i suppose its not really relevant but i wonder her illness was hereditary.
-
On the Sleuthing for Justice site it says that Sheila's natural mother was the daughter of Canon Eric Jay (he was senior chaplain to the then Archbishop of Canterbury). Her father was a curate.
-
Why did it take so long to register her death?
-
So interesting.
I found some information. On Wikipedia there is a list of those who were participated in Queen Elizabeths's coronation procession and the Archbishop of Canterbury - Geoffrey Francis Fisher - is attended by Eric G Jay PHD. This is Sheila's grandfather?
-
If you Google Eric G. Jay he is an author of religious books and contributor in other writings.
-
Oh, begger! I must be half asleep - organising a big demo yesterday. How could I read Jay as Grey? Right, I'll start again with the correct name. ::)
-
Thanks for so much hard work doing look ups, etc.
I can't help noticing the surname Jay cropping up because
on Dartmoor in Devon, there is a famous grave at a crossroad.
The grave is that of Mary"Kitty" Jay.
Kittty Jay was born illegitimately and taken to the Workhouse, where
she grew up.
Later, she was sent as a young girl to work on a neighbouring farm.
She became pregnant and was told to leave the farm.
(It is believed that the farmer's son got her pregnant. But it could have been the Farmer or a Farmhand.)
She committed suicide and was found hanged in the Barn!
Hence her burial at the crossroad to prevent her coming back to haunt.

there was a peter jay at sheilas funeral he was her uncle
