Boutflour did not make statement about finding silencer until September 1985

Police make a request that a witness statement be taken from David Boutflour about finding the silencer in September 1985?

Note that it was not until 17th November 1985, that police were wanting to get Boutflour to say he handed the silencer to Peter Eaton...
