Anthony Pargetter is very non-commital to the silencer issue in the COLP statement.
He specifically makes great mention of a silencer in pristine condition ..rather that "as new" in regards to the .22 semi automatic that was Ralph Bambers.
Of his own bolt action .22 rifle  he mentions buying  additions of a silencer and scope but then puts focus onto the action of fitting the recently bought scope.but does not again mention the silencer..which means either it was not as recent ..or it was brand new at the time as well .
Possibly being easy to pass off as the one that belonged to Ralph that was got along with the .22 semi automatic.
In the rest of that statement Pargetter makes no further mention of his silencer...why..is he trying not to focus attention on it!!! Yet makes a big deal of the scope and other fairly irrelevant stuff.

In my view Pargetter comes across in the COLP statement as being very uneasy and deceptive in that he has fabricated some claims and/or made mountains out of molehills and wants to steer others in one direction and keep attention away from his own post event actions and his own weaponry and accessories upon which he is very uncomfortable in regards to the silencer.

Also of note in Pargetter's statement is when he talks of JB trying Pargetter's rifle after he fitted the scope. He states he himself  fired 4 or 4 magazines each containing 10 bullets..
giving the impression the magazine holds only 10 bullets.
When he speaks of JB firing that rifle he states

"he then fired a magazine containing approx 10 bullets "

it may just be a figure of speech but the use of "a magazine" could be that he had more than one magazine" for the bolt action rifle.

magazine size is also questionable... how many can it hold...do we presume just 10 as Pargetter had previously stated shooting off 4 or 5 magazines of 10 bullets or is the capacity of the magazine or magazines more than 10.

approx 10 bullets could be 8 or 9 or 10 or 11 or 12 etc.
If the magazine capacity was 10 then Pargetter should have said, if unsure, that JB fired up to 10 bullets or similar such as no more than 10.

Pargeter had two ammunition magazines for his .22 Bruno bolt action rifle, one which was capable of holding 10 bullets, whilst the other had a five bullet capacity..
