I've read that the heating was on.  It was probably never switched off from the day/evening before the murders,which would tell me that not everyone went to bed. Sheila especially as she was known to have been on the phone numerous times to her father during the early hours when she found it difficult to sleep,when she wasn't at WHF.

It depends on what kind of heating they had.

Don't think they had central heating at whf did they? Probably referring to the aga which was warm when the police broke in. Those with aga's tend to leave them on all the time even in the summer. Police perhaps wanted to know if aga was on during the time of the murders or switched on afterwards?

Exactly, so it wasn't a case of leaving the heating on or off. I guess it would have to be on constantly to heat the water etc.?
