The Murders at White House Farm by Carol Ann Lee is due to be published on 30 July and is available for pre-order.
http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/carol+ann+lee/the+murders+at+white+house+farm/11448775/
Unfortunately, the description has the date of the murders as 4th August and not the 7th. :(
-
That's a good start having the date wrong. Roch can you hear meeeeeeeeeeeeee ;)
Thank you for that Tyler. ;D

Perhaps that is just an example of what the rest of the book is like?

I think we pointed out a few mistakes when it was announced - she also had Jeremy's age wrong. If the easy simple things are wrong, it doesn't sound promising.

amother new book we should to posting here and all go and write a book.

You do cheer me up Nugs ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
well it strikes me that the way books are being churned out about this case any idiot could write one including me.
we could all go off and write one and then we can back and review each others.

'She sets the crime against the historical context, showing how Bamber was a product of Thatcher's eighties, a brash outsider who believed he could and should have it all'.
Seems the author is saying Bamber is guilty.

Without even knowing when the murders occurred - sloppy!

Personally,I think that getting the date of the murders wrong is an insult to the victims. I too believe that the author will conclude Bamber as having dunnit and that is fine by me so long as she provides some conclusive proof, otherwise it is just but opinion and meaningless. However,I do feel that her book will massively outsell PH's but,of course,we shall have to see.

I agree and it's the most basic of facts and it's wrong. I think it will be simply the story retold with few more comments from those involved. It's not claiming any new evidence, whereas PH's book is. I also think £16.99 is a bit steep for something in which the basic facts are lacking.
-
You know right away that it's not going to be as bowel-gripping as has been described. The " facts " will be all wrong,I know it. ::) Started off on the wrong footing.
I'd laugh my head off if Jeremy's out before the book is. ;D

Just remember nugnug, you said that and no one else. ;D

Ah well, there's one for you then. If she has set it in historical context then it is off to a bad start seeing she's got two dates wrong already. ;D

Oops! I posted before I saw your post Caroline. Sorry. :)

I don't mind people having the opposite view. What I do protest about is when they believe themselves so right that they even refuse to consider all the difficulties that surround the case itself and therefore consider others as idiots for not seeing it their way.
I doubt very much that the book will offer anything new personally, as everything there is to know is known already?
-
How is it going to be any different from other publications, when it's only recently that new evidence has come to light and which won't be in print ?.
I feel that anything else written, will be a facsimile of others but in a different mode, dependant on the personal view of the author.

I agree with you lookout.

I'm guessing that with Jeremys' 54th Birthday today, that he's quietly confident that it'll be his last birthday in his state of incarceration.
In the last paragraph of his latest blog,on this his birthday,he writes about love in " old age " ( not that 54 is old by any means ) but given the chance,he says that should justice prevail,he would like to enjoy true love as a free man.
Ending with," The good news is that Justice may indeed be on its way ". I hope,Jeremy,I hope.

Let's hope so lookout. But I bet you what you like than absolutely NONE of those who have been accusing him of terrible things and constantly throwing abuse at him will not repent of their wicked ways? Why? Oh because that is in their very natures to be like that and if it ain't Bamber it would be some other poor bastard. What totally depraved creatures they are.

Good post,Mr G,and And yes,I wouldn't mind betting that you're right.

Won´t be buying that book - for sure. Irritating with so basic errors!
-
It's got to be better than the one the madman from The Hebredes is writing
He obviously finds it impossible to tell the truth and is a complete fantasist

Deceitful as well.

I've just bought Peter Healys' book,so I'll go through that at the weekend when it arrives and follow what a local has to say for a change. Local to Essex, that is.
-
I agree with Caroline that the price is a bit steep. But then, could that just be Waterstones price? Their books are always dearer than anywhere else. Will anyone on the forum be buying it?
-
Hello tyler No I am not buying it until I can get it second hand on Amazon for 97p ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wait until I can get them for 1P. Have bought two books at that price at Amazon. Unbelievable! Can´t understand that the sellers can be bothered packing and sending them!! But they do - gotta luv´em!
-

It'll be all that it's worth,Susan. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Just be sure to check prices before you buy. Colin´s book was for sale only as a used book on Amazon (didn´t check elsewhere). The prices ranged from 40pounds (I am not kidding) to 1pence!
-
Hahaha lookout I remember you told me Claire Powell's book was moth eaten I bought it for a few pence and you were right ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just order it from the library. We pay for them in our council tax so why not make use of them?
-
Slightly brown with age as well. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
lookout you are a cracker ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
A penny on Amazon? Wished I was that lucky! Years back when I first got into the case Colin's book was like gold dust. I paid around thirty quid for the hardback version on ebay! It pains me to admit it,but will no doubt buy the 'new' book immediately upon release just because I have a compulsive need to have all the books concerned with this case. I have a copy of every book written up until now,so I'm sure I will have another two to add to them before the year is out! Ah,tell a lie,I don't have the Andrew Alexander book as I know it is full of bulls**t. I think even PH reviewed this one on Amazon and totally dissed it.
-

I am a member of what is called The Royal Library (remember I am in Denmark), and no matter what you ask for, no matter which country, they will get it.
But I think it is a lot of trouble to put them through to borrow Colin´s book - especially when I can get it for 1pence.
-

Yes it does seem strange Adam, especially as she has purportedly interviewed Jeremy himself. Maybe the publishers wrote the blurb. Does anyone know who this woman is?

I was thinking of this new book.

Oh, OK, but I would have to go through the same procedure with the royal library. A lot of trouble for them for a dubious book that I don´t really need.
They can use their recources better! :)

That's why I said get it from the library. That way you wouldn't have to fork out a lot of money and then if it isn't any good you won't feel bad about buying a book you don't like. ;D

I see Bob Woffinden has written a book called " Bad Show ".If anyone remembers the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire programme of a few years ago when a Major Charles Ingram was on the show and when one or two questions were put to him, someone in the audience coughed at what seemed to be an appropriate time before the Majors' answers were given.
Woffenden is in support of the Major saying that new video evidence shows that no cheating was taking place., didn't look,or sound that way to me !!
-
Hahaha lookout I remember you told me Claire Powell's book was moth eaten I bought it for a few pence and you were right ;D ;D ;D ;D
I've stil got the book that another member loaned me in exchange for my lending her Scott Lomax's book. She'd dropped it in the bath. I can't read in the bath myself. ;D
-
I've still got the book that another member loaned me in exchange for my lending her Scott Lomax's book. She'd dropped it in the bath. I can't read in the bath myself. ;D

I bought a book for a present once. I started by taking a peek and not opening the book fully. I ended up reading the whole book in one night it was so interesting. But when I looked at the edge of it all there was was a black streak where I had been thumbing through it. I had to buy another one in the end. ;D

So you're a member of the black-hand gang then ? ;D The term's used from a character out of a comic from years ago, though I forget which comic. ::)
