Jim Carr was the manager of Osea Road caravan park, and his son, PC Robert Carr was a police officer with the Metropolitan police, who were close friends of Robert Boutflour, all three went out of their way to cast JB in a bad light as part of this investigation from the outset...

Interesting. On what date did Robert Carr go to Witham?

This registered letter was mentioned by Robert Boutflour in his diary, but it's not been looked into much. I wonder if the police thought it was at all signficant.

The letter was written on a Thursday, and it states that Robert Carr went to Witham "yesterday" - a Wednesday. The 12th August 1985 was a Monday.

Is that correct or I have I misunderstood or misread the letter?

PC Robert Carr went to see the police at Witham on 12th August 1985, the same date that JB went to see them, but the date on this letter is out of sequence by a month, since the next available Thursday fell in September bearing the date of the 12th...

Thursday, 12th September 1985...

If this letter was written up on 12th September 1985, it means that PC Robert Carr also must have gone to Witham police station on Wednesday 11th September 1985, when JB was already in custody on suspicion of burglary at the family run Osea Road caravan park...

So, if PC Robert Carr was at Witham police station, on the 11th September 1985, this was the very same s-day that Ann Eaton handed over the silencer to the police, and the very same date that David Boutflour contacted the police to tell them that he had found a silencer in the gun cupboard at whf...

Why was David Boutflour contacting the police on 11th September 1985, to inform them that he had found a silencer in the gun cupboard at whf, on Wednesday 11th September 1985, considering that since 30th August 1985, another silencer containing blood and paint upon and inside it, was already at the Lab' at Huntingdon?

Robert Boutflour saw Peter Simpson on 5th or 6th September, so why did Robert Carr go to Witham on 11th September? Strange.

----------------------------

not only that, but by 11th September 1985, the nature of the case had changed from being "four murders and a suicide" into "Five Murders" so the date is out of sequence with the facts...

Perhaps the letter is dated Thursday 15th August - if you look at how Jim Carr writes the figure "5", that looks similar.

Robert Boutflour mentioned in his notes for Wednesday 14th August that Jim Carr had some info re the police. In his diary for 14th August he said that Jim Carr asked if he had any objection if he (Jim) spoke to the police. Also, on that day Jim Carr told Robert Boutflour about the registered letter.

I therefore think the letter was written on Thursday 15th August. That would indicate that Jeremy had been to Witham police station on Wednesday 14th August - maybe he went a few times?

That would fit in with PC Robert Carr saying the case was being dealt with as "four murders and a suicide" at that time...
