After a 14/17 hour day and returning to WHF for supper (how nice), Jeremy saw rabbits. Although at this time it may well have been dark.
Although he did not live at WHF, didn't like his parents and was notoriously lazy (according to Lookout) he decided to try to kill them. How nice X 2. Rabbits are very dangerous, aren't they ?
So he fully loaded a rifle, but did not put the silencer on. Meaning only one shot would be fired before the rabbits fled. Sadly once this was done the rabbits were no longer outside waiting for him. So no shots were fired.
He testified to the courts he was being 'lackadaisical' in leaving the rifle for Sheila to pick up. 'I didn't know what was going to happen, did I', he protested. By a tragic co incidence Sheila went 'crazy' with this very fully loaded rifle. That same night.
If only those rabbits had decided to congregate somewhere else.

Do other people believe Jeremy was trying too hard to set the scene for Sheila's rampage ?
If he had just said 'there were lots of guns, Sheila must have found a loaded one', that is more believable.
Rabbits ;D

I am reporting this thread because of Adam's sarcastic remarks towards Jeremy and the fact that he thinks we are all naive.

What time?

What difference does it make? All the family said that NB would have put the gun away anyway , in an unlocked gun cupboard . So as you believe everything else they say then your thread is not relevant.

Do you think Jeremy over cooked the build up ?
Fostering conversations, rabbits, loaded rifles, bullets left lying around.

It is relevant because it speaks to things Jeremy did to frame his sister including staging the scene.
It was not enough for him to just try making it look like a murder suicide by staging the gun in her hands and make someone find the bodies.
He made up the claim he took out the gun and left it out, staged bullets to support such tale and phoned police to pretend he got a call from Nevill where Nevill told him his sister was running around with a gun. His claims of leaving the gun out and the alleged call she grabbed the gun he had left out played a major role in police believing she killed everyone.
The fact he never hunted rabbits before etc that the farm workers and family mentioned help establish he was lying about this. Leaving too many bullets out further helped establish he was lying. It is one of the pieces of evidence that he was trying to frame his sister so is relevant even though the subject is of the thread is not very well consisdered and the main significance not fully discussed.

Your first comment is correct, although it certainly didn't require ANOTHER thread from Adam to ascertain it.......................however WHO could possibly have said that he NEVER hunted rabbits!!!!! Who was there who was so tied to him that they knew his every movement? The "family" didn't live on the farm. The farm workers would have seen him more frequently but they weren't there 24/7. It would be VERY surprising to find ANY man, attached to a farm, who'd NEVER shot rabbits.

Rabbits. Very believable. The countryside is full of the pesky blighters. They are one od the arable farmers worst enemies. It is said that this is was the only time Jeremy went out to shoot rabbits. But was it?

Robert Boutflour's WS says Jeremy going out to shoot rabbits 'is not the Jeremy he knew'. He would not bother doing this.
