Looking at that girl there I would suggest that she didn't need to use her toe to pull the trigger. Her arms were long enough to do the job.
But if we argue that Sheila shot herself first with the silencer on and then carefully put it away in the box and then into the cupboard, then I must say I do not believe it. She would just have taken it off (if she were able to) and left it by her side. She didn't strike me as being a particularly tidy person?

Don't forget that DS 'Stan' Jones took possession of a silencer from the scene (SBJ/1) on the morning of 7th August 1985, along with other exhibits, SBJ/2, SBJ/3 and SBJ/4...

The length of rifle with a silencer fitted to its barrel was not too long to prevent Sheila from shooting herself. as the tests carried out at Birdwell Armoury (2003 / 2004) confirmed...

Court was misled about a silencer being fitted to the guns barrel at the time Sheila Caffell was killed - court was deceived, since there was no silencer fitted to the guns barrel which fired the fatal shot (PV/19)...
