How is it possible for the silencer in police possession not to have an exhibit reference of SBJ/1, considering that police had possession of it for 24 days between 7th and 30th Auvust 1984, before its exhibit reference was supposedly changed for the first time from SBJ/1 into DB/1. This is particularly odd considering that a silencer bearing the unique exhibit reference SBJ/1 was taken to the lab' by Cook on 13th August 1975 - howcould it have been if there is no record contained in the MPR to confirm its existence on that occasion? How come there is no police records to show how one silencers exhibit reference of S J/1, metamorphosized into DB/1, and again from DB/1, into DRB/1?

Will somebody please explain to me, the precise dares when these exhibit transformations, SBJ*1 to DB*1, and from DB*1 to DRB/1, actually took place? Why don't Essex police produce a witness sratement exolaining these changes and alterations? Why don't lab experts produce statements explaining these exhibit alterations? Why don't the relatives refer to any exhibit references when speaking about, or in relation to the silencer...

So,were items SBJ/2,SBJ/3 and SBJ/4 all definately seized from the scene on 7th August?

Yes, along with silencer, SBJ/1...

Thanks Mike. A question then, for the anti's. Maybe Bridget? If items SBJ/2,SBJ/3 and SBJ/4 were seized at the scene,do you accept that SBJ/1 must therefore have been the very first item seized at the scene by Stan Jones?

It's like a lucky dip. Or unlucky in Jeremys' case.

To be honest, I'm not sure I understand well enough the process of how they assign these references. SBJ/2 and 3 are photographs (which since they are described as photographs and not negatives must have been developed) and SBJ/4 is a page from someone or other's statement. If it were the case that Stan Jones was walking around the house picking things up and referencing them himself I would agree that it's likely that SBJ/1 was the first thing he seized on whatever day he started, but it seems to me that these references are more indicative of the order in which they arrived on the desk of the exhibits officer, which wasn't necessarily even the same day they were created / collected or whatever.

Doesn't one of them relate to a photograph of downstairs cupboard or toilet? I cant remember. Polaroid taken by Jones sounds familiar?

Where has it been said that Stan Jones retrieved exhibits from downstairs toilet and took photos of them in situ (polaroids?)?
-
Is it the Pargeter rifle and SBJ1 silencer?

Toilet and phone I think. I believe they were taken by jones, but can't remember the details of when, why or what with.

I think Herr Flick's statements are asking us to read between the lines? ;)
