Phone call from Jeremy, 4pm, today, 25th February 20011
I received an unexpected call from Jeremy this afternoon, which I received at about 4pm, on my drive back from London. He said he wanted to talk to me about someone who had contacted him, using the name of HorseyDave, who sent Jeremy some document or other. Anyway, Jeremy got in touch with his campaign team, with a view to verifying that the document HorseyDave sent to him, was genuine. It turns out that it was faked, and that HorseyDave had edited parts out and included his own parts in. Jeremy says he needed to speak to me about it, because it was not healthy having someone like that claiming to know the family, and intent of trying to stir up a load of trouble. Jeremy told me that HorseyDave, or aka Johnson, has never worked on the farm, and that he has never been driving the tractor. Jeremy also says that the story HorseyDave made up about the gun cabinet is false, because there never was a gun cabinet at whf. Furthermore, Jeremy says there was never any aircraft landing lights found on their land, but the police or somebody did find a couple of lanterns which had been discarded in a nearby field - these were never recovered in connection with any drug investigation, but rather they were found as part of the investigation into the shootings at whf...
Jeremy says that he is being kept updated on a daily basis about the content of what is being discussed and that he will speak out if anyone makes claims about knowing the family, and working at the farm around the time of the shootings. Jeremy thinks the relatives have put HorseyDave up to saying the things he is coming out with, and who knows this could be true or not...

In the Bamber files, there is mention of the police finding two lanterns in a hedgerow of one of the fields belonging to whf. From inquiries made by Essex police at the time, these two lanterns were normally kept in the kitchen at whf, and it is suspected that the two children took these out to play with them, and left them near the edge of a field - I don't actually know if this account is true, I am only reporting the facts which are documented along these lines, in the police file...

I think all of the serious members of this site took yesterdays so called letter from Sarah Hanover to be exactly what it was.
Now can we return to the facts of the case which is what this forum is all about.
Also MT while we are on the subjests of facts please will you repost the photograph of the blood stained petticoat that Sheila was supposedly wearing at the time of the murders. I have asked for this several time on the forum and also as an email to yourself.
There has been some very good discussion on the forum tonight about Sheilas role in the murders.
This photograph could answer a lot of peoples questions.

In view of these latest discoveries, we have to ask ourselves what was this persons motive for coming here to tell us all a pack of lies about the farm, the family and drugs and whatever?
Anyway, in view of what Jeremy said today when I spoke to him on the telephone, I think we can expect to hear more from him from time to time, so I am thinking about creating a thread where I can place all Jeremy's contributions, including any letters that he might feel it necessary to write to us about?
Jeremy says that we have got to let his legal team get on with the job of trying to persuade the CCRC to refer his case back to the court of appeal, so everyone should bear that in mind when posting their comments...

Did the gun cupboard comply with 1985 firearms license provisions?

I took advice on this matter in 2003 / 2004, and it appears that the gun cupboard under the stairs in the den (downstairs office) was sufficient to allow Ralph Bamber, and Anthony Pargeter to store their guns there, in accordance with Essex police firearms policy...
Having said that, it appears that only the guns belonging to Ralph were kept in the gun cupboard along with all the accessories and different types of ammunitions, including boxes of Eley .22 LR subsonic Hollow point bullets (50 per box - Ralph originally purchased 500 on 24th November 1984), since Pargeter's guns and accessories and ammunitions were normally kept in the downstairs toilet / shower room...
Other guns belonging to Ralph Bamber, were found by the police in other parts of the farmhouse, but not seized by them - it was the relatives who collected these up at some later time, once the nature of the investigation changed from SC/688/85. into SC/786/85...
Jeremy's .22 air rifle was normally kept on the small spiral staircase that led up to the landing and the bedrooms from the corner of the kitchen...

It was pretty obvious that Tollesbury was Horsey Dave. I dont understand why you feel the need to rise to his bait though Mike. The whole Horsey Dave/Mike Tesko feud undermines the forum in my opinion.

I don't know whether Jeremy was saying that this horseydave didn't work at the farm before the killings, or that he didn't work there afterwards, I assume the former, but that aside, it is interesting that in the thread where he and others discuss the lay out of the ground floor of the farmhouse, he makes this remark when he asked when it was that the relatives found the sound moderator:
"I dont know exactly, but it was at least 4 weeks. Alot went on in the house after the police had left and whilst JB was abroad and away."
and in a previous posts states:
"Scene 2: Cousin who believes he as a farmer should inherit farm "suddenly" discovers a silencer 3 weeks after the police have left. (I know for a FACT because i was there, that the police used the scullery and kitchen as a office) - suddenly after being in the house for 3 weeks we "find a silencer" !!"
Assuming he was working at the farm (from 3 days afterwards for 14 weeks, which is what he claimed) and that this is how he came to be aware of the discovery of the sound moderator, perhaps there are other workers with a similar recollection.

Yes, that's what I think too. It crossed my mind that perhaps, being a tenant of or having some sort of business relationship with the family, somebody or other, after seeing that thread, got in contact with him to stir things up.

Horseydave was clear in his posts that he came to the farm a few days after the murders and worked for a period of approx 14 weeks - thats IF we believe a word of what he said! He seemed to have a very hidden agenda OR someone worked out who he was and gave him a hard time. I'm not totally sure what happened last weekend as I was around but appeared to have missed the major fall out of Horseydave? I was a bit confused why he was getting so personal with Mike T.

How come? The cupboard didn't even have a lock. How was Anthony Pargeter's rifle stored? In a cupboard in the toilet, just placed against the wall there, or what?

Firearms law and control was more relaxed in 1985, than it is today..

That doesn't tell me how Pargeter's rifle was stored in the toilet. Can you provide a link to the regulations in force in 1985 that you are alluding to or are you saying they make no mention of storing weapons securely?

I think the Firearms Act of 1968 would apply. Firearms had to be kept in a locked cabinet and ammunition had to be stored separately in a locked cabinet (I think).

If Jeremy told you that Pargeter had his own cabinet, how come you're now stating that there was no cabinet? Where can I see Pargeter's statement?

If Jeremy told you that Pargeter had his own cabinet, how come you're now stating that there was no cabinet? Where can I see Pargeter's statement?
... Well, I may have misinterpreted what Jeremy told me, he said that Pargeter kept his guns and accessories, and ammo' in the downstairs toilet, if Pargeter had a gun cabinet, it was in that place, sorry...

Okay. When you next speak to Jeremy, perhaps you could ask him how Pargeter's rifle and ammunition were stored there. If there was no lockable gun cupboard or gun cabinet in the farmhouse, none of the weapons were stored securely, and none of the ammunition was stored securely or separately.

It sounds like a weird set up to me. There were guns in an unsecured cupboard under the stairs, another gun in the toilet which may or not have been in a cabinet (why would someone decide to store guns in a bathroom?) Then there was something about another gun being stored on the kitchen stairs - another odd place to store a gun in my opinion.
