If you do shut the site down I suppose those that are still interested will go to the official site.
It is a shame you feel this way, but it really could have been avoided.

The forum is a resource for research. I was really looking forward to knuckling down to some research as a normal member. If the forum has to be shut down, I do hope that Mike finds some way to preserve the resource, i.e. the statements, documents, photographs etc.

If you are referring to our counterparts from over the way, they never got to the mods.
I personally think that Grahame has allowed him self to be manipulated by one or two people. But Mike could be closing the forum for any number of reasons, not necessarily related to mods.

Either way, Mike has done a fantastic job and I thank him for having me.

I think Mike misjudged the mood of the forum, and some of his decisions have been questionable..
It is not to late to recover this, but Mike needs to explain his motives.
I do admire his tenacity, and he has been very helpful to me in the past. The fact is he has F***** this time, and I think back pedalling is required..
We all make wrong choices in life, and have to live with them, but sometimes we can right the wrong,
This is such a case.

Mike - you've been relentless in your search for information. You hold a huge collection of files and the defence have failed Jeremy time and time again by overlooking not only the information you hold but also you yourself.
To close the forum would be a shame.

It appears that Mike is seriusly looking to close the forum on Sunday. I agree with everybody who has asked him to reconsider as it has been such a useful tool over the years.
However, people who are 100% committed need to look for an alternative solution if Mike does stay true to his word. For example would anybody be willing to set up a new JB forum to replace this one? Or would anybody be willing to speak to Mike and take over his role on this forum as owner and administrator if this is possible.

Grahame has made it quite clear how he would have approached moderation of the forum. I have posted what he has told me on the relevant thread.
Grahame's approach would have been a disaster for the forum in my view. In addition the way he conducted his recent "coup" indicates that he is wholly unsuitable for the role of moderator. This was not about helping Mike, it was about Grahame getting his own way. I have had my eyes opened and I am both surprised and saddened.

What makes you so qualified to judge as someone who has been here such a short space of time?!
I 100% agree with ngb that when Graham was reappointed moderator, the power immediately went to his head and he became some 'forum cleanser' where he would wipe out anybody who stood in his way. In doing so (whether intentional or not) he completely undermined both ngb and Roch as well as criticising in a completely unnecessary way many other posters.
Therefore i think it would be an absolutely awful decision for Graham to be moderator, particularly at the expense of Roch and ngb. He lacks the understanding and empathy to successfully moderate in my opinion so should stick to being a normal member.

I was not online when the photograph was posted. I undertand Roch was online and he took immediate and appropriate action.
I also took appropriate action in imposing a permanent ban on you. Your mate Grahame of course allowed you back, which was part of the deal for you supporting his back door "coup".

Yeah, Steph. That is because I had the I.P address of the poster who posted the picture. Neil wondered how I could have the I.P address because I am not a mod, this rang out as strange to him so he suspected I was behind it all.
When really what happened is I had asked Roch for the I.P and he kindly gave it to me.

This stinks of Grahame. This is getting pathetic.
Grahame's own words were that he was a saviour. That he was 'back' and going to instill discipline on the members of this forum. Within 5 minutes he told me to 'watch my step, boy' twice. His intentions weren't to hlep out - but were to win a 'war' and to persecute me for having an opinion that he did not like.

Hall. It has already been explained. I was the mod on duty. I removed the photo. I subsequently did not inform ngb that I had agreed to mat's request for the IP number of the poster who put the photo up. So how would ngb have known that Mat got the IP number from me? It was only after I actually did inform him, that he realised mat had not been involved. I told you... it's not difficult.

Grahame tried to mastermind a coup to oust the mods, who were chosen by Mike and who seemed to be doing a good job, and seize 'power' for himself.
As it happens it beat the Venezuelan record for the shortest coup in history, but you can hardly blame the locals for being narked off, given that the majority were behind the incumbent administration.
Now we just have anarchy on the streets.

I never expected that people could be so fucked up, that they would return your efforts at protecting them, with poison in equal measure. I must admit that was very naive of me.

This site was really great at one time, but for months now has been descending into utter chaos. Its nothing but a circus now, what with all the arguments taking place and the trolls from 'the other place' taking over. For Jeremy's sake, please DO shut this forum down. Those that are asking for it to stay up, I believe, are only thinking of themselves. They do not have Jeremy's best interests at heart. It's no longer about Jeremy now, it's just about them!

I have no complaints regarding Roch, or Neil. I think that Grahame may have come across as a tad bulish, and upset some people, but his heart is in the right place.. I think that the appointment took us all by surprise, including Neil, and Roch.. I think we should all consentrate on the matter in hand.

I have to admit I have never considered the forum to be anti Jeremy. In my opinion the opposite would apply in general terms. Most particularly as the forum is arguing the case against Jeremy's conviction.

It seems to me, whilst observing from the sidelines, that it is the arguing among each other without reasoned and responsible adult debate which is the real issue. Not the forum going from 'pro Jeremy' to 'anti Jeremy'.

Hello Steph, I was online when the photo of Mats boy was posted. Mat and Roach were also online. I reackon that I saw it within seconds of it being posted and immediately reported it to Roch. It was taken down pretty much instantly. Mat was outraged.

I think my self and Neil didn't mind the odd case related argument but other non case related squabbles are more difficult to eradicate. For every action there is a knock on effect. If you are slightly over zealous in banning people, you are accused of stifling debate. or you are accused of trying to get rid of poster who just happens to also veer towards guilt, even though the reason that poster is being challenged is because of non case related problems. If you do not ban such people, then you get accused of allowing trolls to run riot. if you afford protection to a person on the same side as you, because you are concerned about their vulnerability, you are accused of being biased. If your hand is forced and you ban such a person, they turn on you with an astonishing hatred that is quite difficult to comprehend.
The forum worked best when it had a good number of serious posters. However, with the introduction of a sort of shadow forum, this level of debating was never going to become re-established. The game had changed, the dynamics had changed.

As the forum may not exist shortly i will post a thought or two.The forum has spilled out into issues that the forum is supposed to offer . Far too much wasted space has been allowed to debate the red forum, these posts and threads should have been locked or removed much earlier.Many members have yet to post ,some of these members joined quite some time ago, as yet we do not know their views, mike if you read this post my input for what its worth is not to close the forum , but instead freeze it pending a new formula that works to encourage these members to begin posting, ending the forum will be seen as a victory for Lamberton, the mods could have stopped a lot of this trouble much earlier, As i see it Jeremy Bamber is most likely never going to be released , its down to you mike if your faith in the truth is stronger to resist closing the forum,its your choice mike its your forum if one member believes justice has not being served that view is worth its weight in gold.

one of the issues nugnug is perhaps not by members faults , we re visit previous threads and go over it again , as one member has said we have debated every possible scenario, a member who believes jb guilty , the members views carry some weight as to the repeat debates, a time allowed to ask zero posters to post is not unfair IMO, or all zero posters could be deleted , if they are interested still they could re join, a blanket ban on any referal to the red forum would be good .

That's what I was thinking yesterday. Freeze it until such time as it can be restored. Although I think nearly every aspect has been looked at in some form, so there may be some natural wastage among regulars. However Mike does sometimes surprise me, for example with a renewed angle on an aspect already discussed to death but that makes good sense.

Some of these members with zero posts may have important issues to offer for debate, as they have not started posting we dont know what they are, they may know new things we dont, believe it or not i am on good terms with guilty posters, it must have always been a thought for mike by inviting guilty members to take part , it will at times get heated , its called debate, i still mike would tolerate mild debate than a forum with only innocent posters , if that were the case the forum would have little value.

I remember when the forum was far more conservative in its' atmosphere. There was weighty questioning form the likes of Kaldin. A disruptive influence like Horseydave would sweep through the place leaving utter shock in his wake.

I got the impression he was pushing 60/40 in favour of innocence by the time he stopped posting. The forum was a really peaceful environment back then. There were some spats but it was all case related and there seemed to be less active members. To be honest the forum has fluctuated a lot in different ways over time. I've enjoyed my time here.

Haven't got a clue. Personally I think if a different set up came about it might serve to freshen everything up. New forum software etc. I think a lot of lessons have been learned or at least they should have been learned. Maybe those learned lessons can incorporated in any new set up.

Go from one moj forum to the next, causing disruption and playing one member off against another until no one can trust anyone.
If this was a craft forum or gardening forum it wouldn't matter as forums like that would recover as little damage would be done by the trolls but due to this forum and others being involved in miscarriages of justice the damage is so great.
I was told a long time ago that there is people who are paid to cause this type of disruption within the miscarriage of justice world, divide and conquer being their aim. The purpose being that if supporters and families are being kept busy with the trolls it is less time being spent on individual cases. Also to get everyone arguing with each other so that individuals will retreat, as the less people involved in moj, the better. Trolls also set people up with different scenarios hoping their target will fall for their plan, and before you know it the tabloids get a hold of it.
We all know who is behind it all, with his numerous usernames and ip addresses. He has tried with every moj forum on the internet. He has done on this form exactly what he tried to do on others, the only difference being that on this forum he was tolerated much more for a longer period of time, under his many different usernames.
To moderate this forum would be a full time job with the amount of trolls and troublemakers on it, the moderators tried their best but it became unmanageable lately and I dont think anyone can be blamed for that. It would be a very sad day if all the hard work on this site is destroyed due to John Lamberton and his hangers on.
Mike whatever you decide to you, I just want to say that you are worth a thousand times more than John Lamberton. I can't wait till the day he get his comeuppance.
Whatever you decide, you deserve respect and credit for everything you have done on this forum.

I agree that Roch seems like a good bloke but stop short of passing judgement on Stephanie. We are all here with an interest in MoJ's, I personally find it all quite intriguing.
Steph is not here for the same reasons as us, she can't log off, shut the computer down and forget all about it. She is living it 24/7. I've not encountered one poster who thinks that Simon is guilty. Now imagine living through that nightmare and try to understand why she may sometimes appear bitter, paranoid and a little abrasive. None of us, I would guess, are fit to judge. Fortunately I've not had a tongue lashing from Steph (yet!) but if I did, I hope that I would be understanding enough to see exactly where that anger was coming from and cut her some slack.

I know nothing of how Steph got together with Simon but perhaps they just fell in love! No choice involved. Perhaps Roch was more upset about the way in which his full identity was revealed. He was happy enough for people to see what he looked like, I'm sure (hope!) he has nothing to hide. I don't know why Roch has become the target for this abuse, perhaps someone will enlighten me!

Yeah. He was extremely careless or carefree? Perhaps that's why he seemed to take it in his stride. I was just wondering about justified rage (as perceived by the angered party). It's purely subjective, i.e. in accordance with the perception of the individual concerned. Does that make sense?

For what it's worth, I did apologise to you, by pm, for trying to intervene between you and another poster, when you were yet again ranting that everyone was Kevin Craigie. You were appearing increasingly unbalanced and I felt sad for you - you KNOW that. And you're right, I don't often venture far from home if I don't have to, I'm incredibly lucky to have everything I love within a few acres of land. Some people like to get away from it all. I love my all.

Roch you did a great job and please don't take any of this flak / crap currently going on personally. One of the key posters of the forum without any shadow of a doubt. If you're ever down Surrey or London way it would be great to buy you lunch or have a beer or two. VORTEX (as in Vortex ring).

Cheers. There was a time when the forum didn't need mods. Mike did a cracking job and he was supported by good will from the regulars, of which you were always up there with the best in my view.

Hi Patti would I eat any jam other than Hartley's on special offer 2 jars for £2. When I go on my walk tomorrow I shall take nuts and leave them near the tree (crazy woman) I feed the wild rabbits in my garden digestive biscuits must be the Scottish air. The Mods had a few days off for a rest and now they are back on top form again. Poor Bridget has been beside herself with worry about you :)

Brief synopsis. Few days ago, Graham desparate to become moderator again so pm'd Mike requesting this, completely behind the backs of ngb and roch who were told nothing. Graham reappointed by Mike. Within minutes he let back in previous posters such as Jackie Preece, Stephanie Hall etc. Graham then declared that he would right all wrong and continually undermined Roch (and by his appearance ngb).
Roch then ngb both resigned their moderator jobs as they had both been completely undermined by graham.
Forum descended into chaos with poisonous posts from a number of people esp Jackie and Stephanie. They apparently dont give a fuck about JB or his case, but would rather bitch.
For some reason not sure if removed or he saw sense, shortly after his takeover, Graham once again quit the forum.
Ngb and Roch reappointed mods and Roch immediately banned jackie and Steph.
Forum returning to some normality with healthy debate. QED

I think that is a true assessment Roch from what I saw that evening. I think posting up photos of anyone's 90 year old mother with smutty inuendo is off limits and beyond the joke whoever she is related to.

I think Grahame's treatment by the red forum has been totally disgraceful. For myself it wasn't a matter of being a person's friend, but rather a matter of seeing injustice and real unkindness and refusing to accept any part of such behaviour. I don't know Grahame very well but he has always struck me as a really good man with a great deal to cope with. I wish him and his family well and hope that there will be light at the end of the tunnel soon. All the very best grahame. :)

Yes I agree With your sentiments. The problem was his aggresive attacks on Roch, which did not further his cause. I have no doubt that Grahame is an honourable man, but on this occasion stepped over the mark.

NOBODY should have had to go through what you have and if those responsible had a conscience the would feel ashamed. doing fine maggie a few shows of season 7 to go, pam ewing marries mark graison she knows he has only weeks to live , jr has destroyed cliff barnes as good as he is almost broke being scammed in offshore drilling.

Personally I have absolute sympathy with Graham and the absolutely appalling abuse he has received from certain members of the other forum and also some of the unjustified criticism he has faced here. Also I have absolute sympathy for both his own illness and the very hard times he is experiencing as a result of his daughters illness.
As a poster and member of this forum, I have no real problems with Graham and believe he has a lot to add.
However I would add the caveat that I honestly believe that regardless of the underlying reasons and aggravation he received, some of Grahams posts last week were disgraceful and went beyond the pale.
I would be more than happy for Graham to return to the forum, but before he does so, I believe he owes large apologies to both ngb and Roch as well as a number of other posters he unfairly criticised.

Everyone has a limit and when you get poked with a bid stick repeatedly, it will only be a matter of time before something gives. This forum has been under so much stress lately, it is screaming out from the screen, that it was going to explode at some point soon. I can only imagine the rough time the moderators have had, it could not have been pleasant at all, and it couldn't have been pleasant for members either.
I genuinely believe that the forum can recover from this, and hope that it does. Time for a fresh start?

Hi Bridget, I don't think he was blaming Andrea. I think Grahame had just finally had enough. I think he suspected there were people dual posting who could very well have been involved in posting the photo. In such situations it's human nature to try to get some sort of control. imo

In his situation, given the amount of pressure he was under, he may have felt he was losing control over what was happening and lashed out. I have felt concerned for him for some time and hoped he had somebody he could offload to. I wonder what any of us might have done in a similar situation.It's food for thought, anyway.
It looks to me as if the general concensus is that the forum will recover and it's time for a fresh start. I believe it to be a fine suggestion and I believe we can make it work.

It may not be the popular opinion but I am happy that he isn't here anymore, I don't think there is a place for him any longer after his own actions. But that's just MY opinion.

Perhaps the fact that you were posting on the threads devoted to poking fun at Grahame, caused him more of a problem than you posting per se. Some people need a little bit of looking after and Grahame deserved support and understanding from us all.

Unintentionally the entrance was seen as most unwelcome by some, but most people settled down with me after it. Never Grahame though.
Admittedly one of the appealling things of the Red Forum was there there were members there that were able to say 'ignore him he's like that with most people' because there were a few female members there that had runs ins with him and been banned when he was in 'power'. It was nice to see I wasn't the only person!

However, as you are both adults, I don't believe that all is lost. You both have a choice to make. You can carry on as you have before and every few weeks another spat will result in disruption and bad feelings on the forum OR you can sort it out, wipe the slate clean and start again. At the moment it feels as if you are putting a plaster over a festering sore.
I'm not taking sides, Mat. I would say exactly the same words to Grahame. Good feelings can be restored, but you both have to want it to happen.

I understand, April. :) I am aware you're not taking sides. However, I won't be 'making up' with him. IMO I can't trust him - the way he has acted from day one - specifically the comments when he got his 'power' back have taught me a lesson, and it is not to befriend him. I do however wipe my hands clean of him - and won't cause a problem when he comes back.

Was he nice to you when he had his mod-spot or was he talking down to you? Was he a nightmare? Was he up his own arse? Was he embaressing himself and the board? Did he believe all the tripe he was saying? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
But things didn't go his way - he got caught and shamed.
But you can mark my words if he hadn't - he would have found a reason to ban me, he was already persecuting me for having an opinion and threatening me with a ban.

Can I just mention, as someone from across the divide, that I have spoken to Grahame numerous times on the phone and have always found him polite and intelligent and actually quite capable of seeing both sides of the story. His treatment on the red forum was appalling, with things said about his family that were well beyond 'banter'.
The person above, simply doesn't fit the person who attacked Roch and NGB and my personal feeling is that someone has goaded him into taking the foolish steps he took and I can imagine him feeling a complete prat now for listening to them.
I cannot condone anything he's done over the past few days or even his tone with dealing with Mat, but I do believe him to be a good man, who's acted the fool.
I have to say that if mike had refused his plea to be a mod then none of us would ever have known what had happened and he should apologise for his part also.

In my defence, Keira was threatening to ban me, I asked her why and she stopped replying to PM's from me. She did indeed ban me twice for no reason and NGB corrected this in the morning.
What I said on the red forum is that if Keira bans me just because we have fallen out and doesn't stop telling lies I would post the PM's that proved she was lieing in what she was saying on here.

You say that it made you look awful. Well it might do when taken out of context. There were reasons why you threatened to do it, like there are reasons why Grahame says what he says sometimes.

Hey Neil. I hope you dont think of me as agrieved as I really am not. Whatever Mat says to me washes over me as unimportant and a bit sad. I am not harbouring any hatred towards him at all. My suggestion that he should maybe accept some responsibility was fair I think as even in divorce courts its usually 50/50, 40/60 or whatever. Rarely is a dispute totally one sided.
I must say I do admire your fairness in the way you judge things. ;D

Grahame is a long standing member of this forum and deserves our support,which he obviously feels he didnt get.I agree he has made some very unfortunate posts of late but I feel that these were made out of anger and sheer frustration.And I see why! The two main instigators of the abuse toward Grahame are not even on British soil.They spout their filth from behind a computer screen from other countries.How cowardly! The upshot of this is that Grahame cannot involve the police or worse still,have the oppurtunity to front them out face to face.Can any of you image what this must do to a mans pride?He quite rightly wants to protect his family,and frustratingly his hands are tied.I know that if it were me in this position,my hubby would be on the first plane out to Luxembourg/Alicante,but Grahame is poorly himself and needed at home.

Grahame is a long standing member of this forum and deserves our support,which he obviously feels he didnt get.I agree he has made some very unfortunate posts of late but I feel that these were made out of anger and sheer frustration.And I see why! The two main instigators of the abuse toward Grahame are not even on British soil.They spout their filth from behind a computer screen from other countries.How cowardly! The upshot of this is that Grahame cannot involve the police or worse still,have the oppurtunity to front them out face to face.Can any of you image what this must do to a mans pride?He quite rightly wants to protect his family,and frustratingly his hands are tied.I know that if it were me in this position,my hubby would be on the first plane out to Luxembourg/Alicante,but Grahame is poorly himself and needed at home.

Hi Tyler, great post! The internet is full of trolls and people trying to find out who you are. When they do find out all about you, they plaster all your details over the net. Grahame, Jackie and Keira have been victims of such abuse and we as posters should support them, even in their anger and frustration. But sometimes those that have been abused, sadly start to abuse others. I suggest time out and the other thing I suggest is not to look at the other forum if that forum is abusing you.
I recently looked on FACEBOOK where I saw Keira being abused and all her personal details revealed. Thankfully, facebook has a good tracking sytem and will take action if reported, unike Twitter who has no guidlines at all. There are many ways to report the abuse, but it is up to the idividual to seek help, in order to have this account brought to book.
At the end of the day, Grahame is an adult and as an ex mod he should be mindful of what he says and try hard not to get into any confrontation. I say to Grahame rise above it, don't being the other board to this forum, but deal with it sensibley behind the scenes. I will always support anyone who has been a victim of abuse, but I wont bring it too the forum...Does that make snese? :) :) :)

Can I just mention, as someone from across the divide, that I have spoken to Grahame numerous times on the phone and have always found him polite and intelligent and actually quite capable of seeing both sides of the story. His treatment on the red forum was appalling, with things said about his family that were well beyond 'banter'.
The person above, simply doesn't fit the person who attacked Roch and NGB and my personal feeling is that someone has goaded him into taking the foolish steps he took and I can imagine him feeling a complete prat now for listening to them.
I cannot condone anything he's done over the past few days or even his tone with dealing with Mat, but I do believe him to be a good man, who's acted the fool.
I have to say that if mike had refused his plea to be a mod then none of us would ever have known what had happened and he should apologise for his part also.
Just to add to this, I think there is some genuine division among members from over the way, as to whether or not it was acceptable to post up that pic of grahame's mother. Somebody has put up a really poor argument that because the photo was taken from another site available for viewing, then it's ok to transfer her pic to the forum. What on earth had grahame's mum got to do with the case? She has no connection whatsoever to anyone actually linked to this case. Now I'm not saying the members over here have not done similar things. I remember when a photograph of the son of a police officer linked to the case was posted up and this caused a lot of concern. I'm not trying to score points here and there are other examples of where people's family have been drawn in to things. It's a pity we cant reach some kind of unwritten 'gentleman's agreement' with the mods at the other place that this kind of thing should be a no go area?

I've previously moderated posts that referred to his wife because she has no connection to these forums. That's the point I'm making. It should work both ways and is the kind of thing that should be a no go area. I think some of their members would agree with this.

I have NO idea how it's to be accomplished, but I feel very strongly that until some sense of balance is achieved in outlining what is acceptable behaviour and what isn't, these outbursts will continue. IMO there MUST be boundries to provide safety and security for everybody.

I see Jackie Preece is offering to sell her soul to of all people, John. Absolutely no scruples whatsoever. A complete inability to take any responsibility whatsoever for negative events that have taken place. It's always somebody else's fault, never hers. Never once have I ever seen Jackie Preece hold her hands up on a forum. Not once. never once have I seen Jackie Preece turn down the opportunity to twist something in to something that it is not.
I will clarify one issue. Jackie is extremely unhappy that people have, out of genuine concern, questioned her wellbeing. However, the people who have questioned Jackie's wellbeing, could find no other explanation to fit her behaviour. Repeatedly baffled, they were left with no other explanation that might fit her behaviour. That is the truth.
I will not comment on this subject any further.

I have nothing further of any note to say on the matter for now. People can make their own minds up about what we have been dealing with here for many months and whether it is likely that negotiation based on good will and rational thinking would be successful. I think such avenues have already been explored many times over.

I don't think anybody is excusing Grahame's more terse posts. But neither should any member fuel Grahame's fire. Pouring oil on the flames isn't going to help. Arguing your case, yes that's fair enough. But there's got to be a line drawn when doing that.

I seem to recall that there was a member called 'Admin' who set up some of the initial boards, like the wireless message board etc. Mike referred to him as Ian, there was also a letter from Jeremy to Mike asking him to close the forum down where Jeremy mentioned Ian.
