Thought i would let you know that i may have to be taken into care shortly , if i hear any more about these olympic games it could push me over the edge , i never asked or wanted it a total waste of money, i have heard these games are so special , without them the orbit of the earth would change around the sun.

Hi Margot  just in from the garden for a cup of Earl Grey and just had to say "Hello"  how are you today.  Mertol is an absolute Darling and I knew you would love him to bits.  I read the Nick Rose case and was quite shocked he refused a polygraph test. :)

Yes that is a good point Patti,
I was crestfallen when they awarded the silver to the Japanese, but to be honest they were better. However, that didn't stop me feeling a little peeved. I thought for a minuted that they were going to collectively kick off and protest but I think us being stoical British we were perhaps a little afraid we would appear somewhat unseemly. Oh well! Maybe next time :-)

So do I Roch....It's all about competition and I think it is wonderful that every 4 years the world comes together...Shame about the seating problem, this has let us down as hosts...It is certainly a social issue of them and us...which, sadly our government is getting bloody good at....causing a division of of three classes....lower, middle and upper class tickets...yet I believe all tickets should be the same price....to allow everyone the same choice...IMHO... :) :) :) :)

I havent really followed the seating fiasco.  I agree though, this government are pants.  Gideon Osbourne and 'Dave' are out of their depth.  Ed Balls would do a better job in my opinion.  But let's not get in to it eh!  It's the sport that counts now.  We do amazing events over here.  Just look at the royal wedding.  Ceremonial precision of the highest spec.  These Olympics are gonna be amazing....  Let's hope the sun has got his hat on for the remainder  8)

Bridget, I watched some of the marathon.  Ethiopia (1) Kenya (2)  Russia (3).  I missed the sailing but it appears that Team GB led for nearly all the race but were done over near the end, with the Swedes sneaking in to take the gold.  It's 100 meter sprint final tonight.  Marathon and 100 meters in the same day.
