Wow! Great post Grahame,  this album is in my top 5 of all time, still sounds as good as ever.  I would like to go and see him this summer, but he's playing at Hyde Park which is not a good venue, with poor sound and poor view.  There are still plenty of people who think that Simon is an arse, for making this record and also for his treatment of Art.  I can listen to Art Garfunkel sing anything, amazing voice.

I think he's very talented and that going to SA as he did was on the whole a good thing.  You notice in the audience there was an equal number of black and white people. Which really goes to show that the common sense of the ordinary citizen is usually the way people want to go.
What he failed to realise though was that all those African musicians came with a package already prepared by those who thought themselves better judges that the ordinary people of SA.
This is one album that I think is a great album with great nusic which I think the world would never have know but for the Graceland event.
