Hi egap1 I bet you just love him don,t you, no not The Jam Rafael Nadal :)
I'm off to Wimbledon on Wednesday, No.2 court. It's a great day out especially if the weathers fair. I won't be looking out for Rafa though, instead I'll be keeping an eye out for Sue. (Barker) :P
-
Hi Neil lucky you hope it is a good day it makes so much difference to the atmosphere would prefer to watch Novak myself any day bit young for me but I can dream :) :) :) hope that is how you spell his name I am always too busy admiring him than looking at names and scores who cares about trivial matters like that.
-
Hi egap1 bushy Bernard is 80 years of age this year and I am not turned on by his eyebrows or by him give me Novak anytime I can only dream. :)
-
Hi egap1 thanks for the link on Bernard,s bushy eyebrows did not realise they were so grey oh my oh my. ;)
-
Hi egap1 I,m not that desperate to fancy an old man with bushy eyebrows give me young blood anyday HaHaHa.

Best of luck to Andy Murray. Pity he's not as sexy as Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer but there we go.
Andy has won his last four games against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga so it looks promising that we might have the first British man in a Wimbledon men's singles final since 1938. Anyone on here want to admit to watching that game live?
Off to get some pimms to mark the occasion.
Starts at 4pm.
I am! Should be a great match. Got a bad feeling though! Federer looks awesome, he should win the championship. I don't think that you can beat watching great live sport, especially with an ice cold beer in hand! Enjoy.

The first man British man in the finals since Fred the man....I hope he wins on Sunday, I will need tissues. :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
Don,t hold your breath Patti Federer is awesome just now but who knows tissues will do for a win or loose. ;)

[/quotei dont need tissues just tons of ready mixed concrete to level each playing court and top off with a few rusty girders before it sets game and match.

They train these umpires from a very early age. There they are sitting in their high chairs shouting, "juice, juice"

Well done Andy Murray, although he lost the match he won over a lot of hearts. Without the lows you cannot truly appreciate the highs.
On a slightly different note, if what the pundits say is true and the money doesn't matter, why have a million pound prize? I find it rather obscene.
Whilst on the subject of money...........no I best not! I was thinking 'Bob Diamond'!!!!

If money was a problem then how could they have built that roof over centre court? Money isn't a problem. It's a multi £million business. The Duke of Kent is the president of the All England Club and where you find Masons you find money. It aint poor. Youngsters just need encouraging to play more tennis. There are people who recognise this situation and are teaching youngsters for free and the hope is that we shall soon have some rising stars in the tennis worlt.

I wonder why they offer such huge cash prizes when players, pundits etc, claim that the money is unimportant. Perhaps they give it away, you never know!
-
Hi egap1 Just be glad you don,t have shares in Lloyds and RBS like somebody I live with :(

I think they are telling porkies when they say money is unimportant. They are "professional" tennis players. Which means they do it for a living.

Grahame, I think you have got it spot on there.
Hi Egap, I agree with you regarding the prize money. I have been to Wimbledon a few times now and although food and drink, once inside, is charged at astronomical prices, you are able to take your own picnic with you. The ticket prices are quite fair also, I think we paid 50 pounds each for centre court tickets last year and saw three 2nd round matches. Compare that with top flight football tickets and it represents fantastic value. We should be very proud of Wimbledon, it is a fantastic venue and is run supremely well.
