In the (rather large) book entitled "Chronicle of the 20th Century"  there is an entry for the 7 August which reads as follows:

Journalists make news by striking

Radio and television journalists went on strike today in protest against the banning of "Real Lives", a programme about Republican and Protestant extremists in Northern Ireland, by the BBC after government pressure. The BBC's Worls Service was off the air for the first time ever.

I have that book somewhere, it's the type of book that could break your foot if you dropped it on it..:)

I decided to spring clean my book case. BIG mistake. I'm spending more time looking through them than sorting them out.....!!

Hi Blodwynflower, I can't find it, I think it is underneath all the junk in cupboard above the stairs. It's one of those cupboards that sends one or two suit cases flying on your head...:)  I know it's not on the bookcase, because it is too big.  I'm the same with books, I hardly read them, but use them for reference ...but I have a few of late and in the middle of CC'S book....:)
