Just been reading the pathologist report and he mentions nicotine stains on Sheila's fingers on the "right" hand. Now I'm not sure if this is the same with everyone who smokes, but when I used to smoke way back in my twenties about 100 years back I held the cigarette with my left hand whilst I am right handed. If there are any smokers here are you (1) left or right handed and (2) what hand do you hold your cigarette with? Might or might not be an interesting experiment?

I no longer smoke, but when I did I held it in my right hand. I am right handed.
-
Eowwwwwwwwwwwwwww I smoke in my left hand, but I am right handed. If this helps. ;D ;D
-
Hmm, perhaps this experiment will prove to be a waste of time. Let's cut it short and ask was Sheila right or left handed? Does anyone know?

Sheila was right handed.

Which hand do you hold the phone in? l ;D

Hi Patti,me too.Right-handed but hold cig with left hand. Only the slightest tinge of nicotine is visible to see the difference in my right and left forefinger.
Sheila smoked thick cigars as well as her cannabis,so markings would have been more pronounced I would imagine. She must have smoked both to " the bitter end " in order to have had staining of her finger/s.
I've often wondered if there'd have been a strong smell of cigar smoke when the police entered the farmhouse. It's never been mentioned, unfortunately,as it would have been another indication that Sheila was " up and about ". Though, saying that, the police would have related a cigar smell to a male and not necessarily a female.

Hi Lookout, I believe she smoked cigarlets or something like that.....but, according to her cousin she rolled cigarettes too and, chain smoked in her company, her statement is in the archives...This could be the cause of the stain I suppose. I'm not sure about cannabis, or whether it would stain the fingers, I didn't know if it could be smoked, I thought you sniffed it.. I've never seen a drug in my life, nor ever taken one......I wouldn't know one if I saw one. No one ever mentions any smells do they? :) :) :)
-
Hi Patti Cannabis is usually smoked or the seeds can be cooked in cookies which you give to the vicars wife when she comes for tea (just tell her its seed cake) what a different woman after two or three cookies :) people who partake some "weed" usually roll their own ciggies to put it in the mix. I did read Sheila did smoke cigars and I was asked by somebody on the forum what brand ;D but of course I don,t know. Lookout you don,t sniff cannabis you are still on the sniffer dogs :) :) :)
-
Hi Susan it was me that mentioned sniffing not Lookout....this is a statement from her cousin. I wont mention her name because it is unfair. I see you have found all the smilies...lol :) :)

Are talking about my right, or yours? Which would be my left, right? :-\

Hi Hartley pretty good stuff for I suspect a Southen er ;)
-
I'd pull a trigger using my right index finger, but if I was dialing phone i would use right hand and hold the receiver in my left hand. :)
-
Hi Patti I always hold the phone in my right hand only use the left for the knife that is so strange but then again what can you expect I write with my right hand but sometimes I think Im the wrong way round do you understand what I am trying to say :) :) :) :)

Two hands lol....Would that be a left handed bat or a right handed one....or are all the bats the same? I know golf sticks are different :) :) :) :) :)
-

I always used my middle finger to pull the trigger. I had more strength in that one. I use to steady the rifle with my index finger.

Mine's an automatic so when I drive my son's car which is a manual I sometimes forget to put my foot on the clutch and then wonder why it stalls.
-
Hi Grahame I really don,t know what happens my feet have a mind of their own if somebody is sat at the side of me that makes it worse as I know they wish they had never accepted a lift ;) ;) ;)
-
Hi Grahame thought all cars had ignition on the right :)
-
Mine doesn't have keys...
-
Mine doesn't have keys...
Do you just put your feet through the floor and run with it?
-
Oh my God Grahame you make my life worthwhile I can just imagine Bridget peddling down the road at speed in her car without an engine. :) :) :)
-
Hi Grahame just been told that some cars I guess like Bridget,s don,t have keys just have a code hows about that then :)
-

Yes I know. I was just joking. You can start them from a distance. I want one where if someone tries to nick it flames will shoot out the side.
-
Hi Grahame I did know you were joking but it was so funny I am still laughing about it. I am sure the day will come when you will have your spaceship of your dreams. Hang in there.
-
Hi Everyone - I'm left handed. I don't smoke. I use my left hand for everything except when using a pair of scissors. :)
-
Would use my right hand to smoke a ciggie, if I was doing something which required the use of my right hand, I'd use my left hand to smoke. Right hand is used for just about everything.
I'm a heavy smoker but don't have nicotine stained fingers. It must be the roll ups that causes nicotine stains. I'm suprised it says that she had nicotine stained fingers. Sheila liked to paint her nails. I would have thought she would have taken care of any nicotine stains. If the stains were there, could it have been due to chainsmoking that day?

We used to use pins to hold the dogend so we could get a few more drags out the fag.
-
Hi Oncesaid if the ciggy is held down or to the side you will get nicotine stained fingers but if the ciggy is held up you wont hows about that for a bit of useless information. :) :) :)
-
Grahame trust you to get the last drag out of the fag (sounds so common) ;D ;D ;D
-
Hi Susan,,,you're dead right you know, and if it's held downwards for any length of time, without physically smoking the cigarette, the nicotine is more pronounced but will remove easily using a lemon.
Maybe this was in Sheila's case while otherwise distracted.
-
As for Grahame,if he'd have been a woman,he'd have used a hairclip. Much more conventional.
-
Hi oncesaid I think Sheila was a heavy smoker and her hands and nails were so immaculate I would have thought the staining would have annoyed her. It does look quite disgusting.
-
Hi lookout Grahame might use a hairclip in his hair and a bow if he was a woman :) :) :)

Then my hair would be out of place.
