Why have Hartley and Jackie both deleted their profiles?

Well at just a guess I should think that Jackie is pissed of with my latest decisions? And as regards Hartley, he told me that he was going anyway. Ah! It's a lonely job being a moderator. ::)

:D - having recently been on the blunt end of a jackie movement, I believe that Grahame having been fair to me over this issue, resulted in Jackie getting even more piss*d off.
I may be wrong over the point above, but Jackie just totally misinterpreted a post from me (Interviewing Bamber in Jail Reply # 36 and that was it - the emotional powderkeg went off ::) - see Reply # 27 for the start (that is if your interested :-[)!

As far as Hartley is concerned he has on several occasions deleted his profile and after an interval rejoined. I suspect that at some stage he will rejoin. The only effect of this is to make it harder to search for posts.
As far as Jackie is concerned I do not know why she has deleted her profile. It may have had something to do with the exchange of posts yesterday morning but it may be unconnected with that. I do think we should bear in mind that Jackie has been the subject of some very nasty personal attacks elsewhere and this must take its toll. Jackie has always used her own name and has fought vigorously for Jeremy so the attacks on her have been particularly hard.

I do appreciate this Neil. But I cannot be other people's consciences. I can't always be aware of what other forums and facebook pages say about her and us in general. I find it very difficult to moderate this forum and do try and be objective about most things. I'm not perfect by any means. If I judge in favour of one then another will be offended. If I judge the other way then another gets offended. When I fail to ban someone who someone else thinks I should I am still in the wrong.
So I judge how I see fit. eg: When the other day I judged in favour of Andrea Jackie contradicted me on one thing I mentioned in passing and she told me that we will have to agree to differ. When in actual fact I wasn't judging on that issue at all. That was not the reason I judged in favour of Andrea.
Sorry if it offends some. But I am endeavouring to judge rightly. I will just have to try and live with the consequences of those decisions I make and unfortunately so will those who I have offended. But folk must do their bit and not push these decisions onto me always. They should be big enough to keep their own feelings in check.

Grahame - I was not in any way criticising you. It is very hard to make decisions and whenever action is taken or even if no action is taken following a complaint an individual forum member may feel aggrieved. It is often a very delicate balance. I think you would agree with me that we have tended to moderate the forum with a light touch, tending not to intervene save in exceptional circumstances. I think that is probably the right approach.

It's a shame that many of the pro-boards posters either by default or design, have found themselves enaging in abuse towards Jackie. I do not believe that it would be the natural thing to do for some of them. But the abuse has become so ingrained over there now, that other more benign posters are swept along with it. I think that upon reflection, some would not be proud of becoming involved in what is essentially nothing more than sustained bullying against an individual. It's only fair to point out that the flip side of the coin is that Jack does get in to scrapes.

Well Hartley is certainly smart in the way he posts.
Hartley was, and I hope still will be, a good contributor to the Forum.
He created the document thread, could tap into any other document almost at will, and was pretty knowledgeable all round - and stood his ground.

Let me just explain this proverb as some are such idiots over on the erm...the....erm ...the place where the pratts live.
It means that those who share their ideas with those who have wisdom shall because they rub shoulders pick up that wisdom and begin to use the same wisdom themselves. But those who mix with fools and ignoramuses and those who will not learn etc, like those over in that shit hole of a forum whose name escapes me, will by association become like them. Like Shona apparently who according to some is becoming very abusive towards this forum. Well that's what it means. But if that's what they want, then it's their choice. ::) I don't even pity them. I read the link to the place and I had to have a bath a suck some mints because of the bad air over there.
I feel that it is important to emphasise this. Because people are more prone by nature to pick up on other folks bad habits rather than their good ones. The reason being that it is easier to let go, break down and revert to our base thoughts and feelings than it is to build up, to cultivate and develop good habits. That which is worth it always involves hard work.
So it would be very easy to follow John with his proneness to hatred (poor chap) and in time become like him in spouting abuse about people he doesn't like than to cultivate a spirit of love and understanding and wisdom.
He boasts of a forum that doesn't have any quarrels etc. That is because everyone who frequents his forum are just the same as him. They deceive themselves that they hate injustice and abuse. But in reality that is what they are doing for most of the time towards all those who don't share their own views and who do not frequent their forum. Unfortunately Shona wasn't aware of the abuse that she came in for when she wasn't a member there. But of course it has all been deleted so she is none the wiser. (I pick out Shona because I have seen a change for the worse in her character) So I really do think that it is bad policy for anyone to attach themselves to that forum. For the actual words of that Proverb, "shall be destroyed" mean that they will ultimately destroy themselves and their own characters so that they will not only not want to know the truth. But will be unable to.

I have seen elsewhere some awful things said about jackie really bad, whatever view anyone has on the case you cannot fail to see the sheer level of input to help Jeremy, jackie has left before and returned at a later stage,i hope she is ok.To me hartley offered nothing more than sterile debate devoid of any ground to debate that Jeremy may be telling the truth again he has left and returned , and he may return once more.

Well unfortunately I have to agree with you about Hartley. He didn't seem to progress much in his thinking and his mind seemed utterly closed as regards new data that has been found.
I'm sure Jackie will be back? She's a bit fiery but gets people interested in the case. Sod all those in the forbidden planet. They produce nothing but filth and abuse and they all revolve mindlessly around their
Führer like moths round a candle.
But Jackie is one whom I admire for her tireless work on this case. Yes I'm sure she will be back. ;)

Last time I spoke to Jackie she seemed fine.She was in very good spirits regarding a very positive breakthrough with regards to the case,which unfortunately I am not privvy to.Am sure that all will be revealed eventually.

I agree regarding hartley.This is what I have never been able to make out - he says the family want privacy and to be able to get on with their lives,but in the next breath he/she is continuosly on the forum,often giving out their private details,and apparantly with their blessing!
hartleys attitude of needing to be right,needing to be in control and refusal to budge with regards to Jeremys guilt appear to echo the personality of AE.I get the impression that this family need Jeremy to be guilty,because for them,the alternative is too catastrophic to contemplate.

Hartley has deleted his account and returned on a number of occasions. I'm sure he will return on this occasion too, Mertol. It seems to me that Hartley is a member of the forum because he does not wish Jeremy to be granted an Appeal. I have reached my own conclusions about why that might be. What's your view?

Keira there are several conclusions i can think of and they all seem to follow each other on jackie said it much better than i could the caravan park for a opener, the caravans and the revenue they bring is one thing , the mint the land they are on is quite another, as to Jeremys appeal whatever the outcome im sure hartley will return , but as before nothing to offer the real nature of this case lies elsewhere its all down to money.

I agree with you about Hartley, he's little more than a troll who delights in disrupting the forum by hurling abuse at pro JBs, Mike and mods. When those he attacks are goaded into reciprocating, Hartley does his bleeding heart routine:
"Boo hoo, mods, I'm being attacked by evil Keira, boo hoo, she's obsessed with me. She started it, get her for me, will you? Do for her! Do it before I cry so much I'm forced to delete my account..."

We won our case this evening, our protest group here, and it was quite amazing. A year ago, all the odds were stacked against our community. Every single one of our councillors and every party group indicated that they were determined to push through this massive, obscene, high density housing development here, because our council would receive mega millions from the government for doing so. The developers told us that our council had secretly agreed the deal with them and there was nothing we could do to stop it.
The developers are the customary mega rich and powerful consortium. Major shareholders of two of the companies making up the consortium make substantial donations to the governing party. Our council were gagging for it, the government are too, the developers told us that we didn't have a chance, it was in the bag.
Yet this evening we turned our previously hopeless situation around to beat them all! Our excellent campaign forced every political group to support our comunity against the fat cat developers, Our planning committee voted unanimously against the fat cats.
Of course, we now have to fight the developers' Appeal to an Inspector for the Secretary of State and we must bust a gut to beat the fat cats again. I believe we can do it, I have always believed that, because I believe in people power.
Power to the people, power to Jeremy's bid for justice and freedom, with the superb people he has fighting for him, he can do it too!
