This is regarding Sheila's reduction of Haldoperiodal.
Sheila was complaining of sleepiness.
Wilkinson also says Haldoperiodal can cause stiffness.
Going by Sheila's final few days, she could walk but had to be constantly monitored by CC, June & Nevill.

She was living independently. She spent the last weekend living alone. The pathologist said she was well nourished so obviously feeding herself properly. No evidence of others feeding her.
Her nails were well manicured and varnished. No evidence of others doing for her.
There's no evidence she was incapable of murdering her parents and children and taking her own life.

Sadly Sheila was a lamb to the slaughter. Which has been well documentated.
Jeremy doing a final check at supper before ringing Julie to tell her 'tonight's the night'.
Certainly no match for a fully fit Nevill. Bamber had to inflict 40+ bruises, lacerations & breakages to negate him & that was after shooting him 4 times!

But on the day of the party, it's claimed she couldn't cut sandwiches. As for there being no evidence of her being incapable of those thing you've mentioned, there's no evidence of her being capable, either. Ya pays ya money, ya takes ya choice.

In addition to this, Carol Ann Lee interviewed Sheila's best friend who confirmed that a week prior to the killings, Sheila was poorly co-ordinated. Her poor co-ordination included things like making beans on toast and when she came to putting the beans on the toast, missing the plate!

Wrong! The beans on toast came from AE/DS Jones.
Look at SC's well manicured/varnished nails. It takes a very steady hand. There's no evidence she had a manicurist and/or others carried out the task.
-
Bamber seemed to think she was doing alright.
Did he? We are told that by others as a motive for murder. In reality SC was without any finanical resources. CC didn't work. She was dependent on state handouts and her parents. June was in the process of setting up a monthly allowance for her which was little more than pocket money.

From CAL -
Don Hawkins declared that his former girlfriend ‘didn’t have the manual dexterity to handle a gun. I remember that she had trouble opening a can of beans with the tin opener.
Donald Hawkins, w/s, 8 October 1985.

Indeed it takes a steady hand. Not necessarily hers, though. Can "no evidence" really be construed as there being none, or merely that none was found?

Haloperiodal is a very powerful drug with multiple huge side effects.
Poor Sheila would have made 'Sleepy Joe' look like Bruce Lee.

I wouldn't think many men, if any, want to think of a former girlfriend as capable of murdering her parents and children.
Sounds like some close-ended questions were put to Don Hawkins for a pre-determined response ::) Who was the interviewer? DS Jones ::)
Funny how attempts to determine SC's manual dexterity seems to involve beans!? AE: SC unable to hit the toast with beans. DH unable to open a can of beans. Rather begs the question if she was unable to open the can how did she miss hitting the toast?! ::)
-

Well her friends and family seem only too willing to tell all that SC was unable to open a can of beans and/or hit the toast with them so why not tell us that SC was unable to manicure/varnish her nails and that's why x,y,z did it for her? And why did any person that carried out the task in a professional capacity not come forward?
-

RW's statement refers to sleepiness and muscle stiffness as potential side effects. SC was concerned with sleepiness only.

Well, any answer I give -and there are probably numerous- can only be supposition as I can't speak for others. They're certainly likely to be subjective. The only time my nails stay untarnished is when they're gelled!

An observation by Barbara Wilson from CAL -
'Her eyes would look right past you. I only saw her once more after that. I was indoors, watching her cross the yard. The geese were about – perishing things, they used to cackle and chase people. But on this particular occasion I saw Sheila walking across the yard, her body and legs very stiff, staring straight ahead. She moved through the geese as if they weren’t there.'
-
Sheila's tragic condition shows two important things -
She couldn't walk, talk or do anything remotely physical.
She was a lamb to the slaughter for Jeremy.

But she went to the GP surgery on 11th July 1985 regarding side effects from her meds. This amounted to sleepiness. If she had any other side effects why did she not discuss?

Sleepiness would have been a major problem.
200mg would have made her bedbound. She could barely function on 100mg.

The key word being "can", doesn't mean always is! There was a wonderful docu shown about over medicated patients at the Maudsley? They were exhibiting all the symptoms claimed of Sheila. They were reduced to zombie status.

Used to work at Kings College Dental Hospital. Thought the Maudsley was part of it & started going to lunch there.
Thankfully only staff were in the restaraunt. Suspect the patients were bedbound.

Seems shelia was concerned about the sleepiness, which is understandable as she juggling prospective France holidays, dating men, nights out, and cleaning jobs at the time.
-

Because sleepiness was 'Sheila's main concern, the observations are from BW

I know. I was responding to Curiosity's post re BW's observations which implied SC was also suffering from muscle stiffness, another known side effect of Haloperidol. If this was so then why did she not discuss with RW when discussing the sleepiness?
-

Community service?
-
There are dozens of serious side effects of Haldoperiodal. Which become worse the longer you use it.
Sadly Sheila suffered from many of these. Both physically and mentally.
Her sleepiness needed to be reduced so she could do essential things such as eat & drink. But even that she found difficult.
-
Are France holidays and dating men essentials?
Shelia was working as a cleaner, requires a level of dexterity.
And nous as well, the daughter of wealthy parents she was receiving financial support from them anyway. It shows she wanted to retain a degree of financial independence.

I believe one of her friends payed her to clean, but only for a short time. Such was Sheila's lack of domesticity, her employment was terminated. It may have been that she'd never been bought up to seek long term employment. Those known to me, who've had similar upbringings, usually do temping from Tuesdays to Thursdays so the weekends are free for socializing.
-
I have managed to maintain a house and do some work this week despite being suffering a bad bout of sciatica A condition that has effected me for years. For the past 12 days I have averaged under 2 hours sleep a night. I am also 56 years old. With this condition simple things like, driving, taking a bath, showering and standing up straight, even sitting on a toilet which we take for granted are hindered. But we still can maintain a semblance of normality
Whilst you can not directly compare my circumstances with shelia, evidence exists to show she was leading a perfectly normal life for a woman her age prior to the massacre, that's not play down her difficulties, but it's also not to enhance them, the truth is probably something that lies in the middle.
-
Why didn't she go to France?
June couldn't get over the channel on her bike to get her food shopping for her. No night vision goggles.

Suspect June was also doing Sheila's cooking. Making food in bulk so Sheila didn't have to do much.
-
Suspect Sheila's friend didn't want to go to France with her. Realising she would have to wet nurse Sheila 24/7.
Would not be much of a holiday for her friend.
June, Nevill & CC may have found out & made emergency plans to get her to WHF instead. Where she could be monitored 24/7.

"A" for effort, ILB. Good for you. I think most of us like to show the world a face which is rather different in the privacy of our homes. I had a simple operation last year which went wrong. I'm now as well as I'm going to be. I've recently returned to 'board treading' and the only concession I've asked is a chair with arms so it isn't obvious that getting up is difficult from a seated position. It could be called "pride". I think pride in herself was something which Sheila, even at her best, had never had. It must have been very easy for her to slide into slovenliness when her mental energy was at zero. I really can't call her situation being "normal for a woman of her age".

Was going to France set in stone, or was it just wishful thinking to jolly her along, ie when you're better we'll go to France?
-
It would be quite easy for June to make food in bulk for Sheila. To last a week until her next visit.
Doubtful June just bought food for her, then went home.
With mum's cooking in London & WHF, no wonder Sheila was 'well nourished'.

Seems France was cancelled in favour of WHF.
Probably a combination of June, Nevill, CC & Tora knowing it would be too much for her.
-
Believe Tora Tompkinson was the person who said Sheila needed help getting off the sofa.
So would be aware Sheila could not handle France. Even though Tora would have other people with her to help support Sheila.
Any trip with the twins would need CC's approval. He let Sheila spend a few days with the twins. On the condition he drove everyone to WHF himself.
-

Taral Palmer Tompkinson?
-
It is Tora. Have amended.

Jez had supper most nights.
They were June's children ( albeit 20 something adults)

I can never subscribe to Adams notion of painting shelia as a vegetable.

She could walk and talk. But only just.
Sadly was operating at 20%. A lamb to the slaughter.
France was never happening.

Taral Palmer Tompkinson?
Two women with similar names and a tenuous connection to this case - Tora Tomkinson, Sheila's friend and confidante who narrowly-missed being one of the victims at WHF and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, an attractive socialite from a wealthy family (like Sheila) who lived in a posh Kensington residence, snorted cocaine which eventually caused her nasal septum to collapse spoiling her looks, had an unfortunate love life and died alone aged just 45.

How?
Tora was invited to visit WHF with Sheila on the weekend before the murders, so she recalled in the Theroux docu, but the offer was turned down for reasons unknown.

If she had been there, then the tragedy as we know it would not have happened.. Is another way of looking at it. Sheila would have been in a different frame of mind with her friend present.
-
Sadly was operating at 20%.
:)
-
Seems that refuting that Sheila was operating at 20% is based on her 'not' going to France!
Going to France with the twins needed the approval of -
Nevill/June. They would be paying for it.
CC. He had the twins.
The Tompkinson's. They would have to agree to look after Sheila & the twins in France.
Seems she didn't get any approvals.
