Don't mind most Yorkshire accents. Some are a bit too strong in east Yorkshire. I think some Yorkshire accents can be used well for comic effect. John Shuttleworth comes to mind.
I'm not too keen on Manchester type accents.

North is and always will be better than south. I say this having lived in south london for almost 6 years as well.

I might be inclined to agree with you, but Sheffield has always had a poor jobs market, unless you in are in the public sector, in which case the market is crowded.

But even then, this is closer to Doncaster! So still, you have to commute out of Sheffield for work.

Used to fly from Gatwick regular when living in London.

My mate sent me some shortbread over xmas ( lives in hexham) it's Northumberland made anyway, was lovely. The name escapes me but il find out.
