can we please switch them off ? they serve no decent purpose and the feature is being abused, someone smited shona the other night for smiling!! i have received smites when i havent even posted.
please can we get rid of them ? plz plz plz plz with a cherry on top ;D

I agree with you Andrea. They are a childish distraction and this facility needs to go.

You could take the Irish approach to the Lisbon treaty, and just keep holding referenda until the people vote yes ;)

IMO, it is often the minority that knows whats best for the majority. ;)
Personally they don't bother me, but if smites are to go, then applauds should go too.

IMO, it is often the minority that knows whats best for the majority. ;)
Personally they don't bother me, but if smites are to go, then applauds should go too.

Andy, you're right. It just detracts from what we're trying to say, and it's spiteful. It's just basically a few sad sods who stay up all night, grinding their axe. Take it away, go back to the spirit of the forum when Mike was in charge, and lets crack on.

Gosh,I seem to have accumulated 9 of them overnight! I feel so flattered that someone thinks I am worth sitting up all night for ;)
And at least I know who the culprit is.The saddo really ought to get himself a life!

There is something hysteriacally comical about a grown person sitting up all night smiting members of a forum. ;D I can just see it, some grumpy ole azz, waiting for hour after hour to pass to smite again and again! OMG!
I don´t care about the smites, one way or the other; but they are often talked about and seem to bother a lot of people, so perhaps they should be removed.
