Anyone know anything about it? Was mentioned on Red a while back.

I was aware that he was researching the case with a view to making a series of films which will be shown this summer.
Aunt Agatha and myself were in touch by phone about this at the backend of last year. Louis Theroux lives quite near to AA and it's possible that she may have approached him on the subject.

Would it be cynical to say he's the kind of person who would do anything for money?

The Bambers: Murder at the Farm (working title) examines the tragic murder of a family at a secluded English farmhouse in 1985. The three-part true-crime series uses first-hand testimony and unseen archive footage to reflect on the events and the conviction of Jeremy Bamber, who was brother to murdered mother Sheila Caffell.

Theroux, who executive produces alongside Arron Fellows, said: “A big part of wanting to start a production company a little over a year ago was to make programs that I don’t appear in… It’s a story that’s socially important, with a powerfully compelling narrative, and the intention is to tell it in a way that is both sensitive and creatively ambitious.”

Is it likely to be another stitch up from a defence point of view? Theroux's other programs are a mix of poignancy and mocking. Unless they are going to include ballistics /other concerns, it seems pointless to me.

It has to be better than the last drama and he wouldn’t want to repeat the same old stuff so will be hopefully be looking from another angle. He loves to travel so he might want to interview in Canada

Re examines

From Louis Theroux’s Mindhouse Productions comes the 3 x 60-minute The Bambers: Murder at the Farm (w/t), which re-examines the case of Jeremy Bamber and the White House Farm murders. The series airs this summer on Sky Crime and Now TV. Theroux and Arron Fellows are executive producers.

What’s the betting QC is involved going by a pm he sent

It could be one of his Weird Weekends.

I imagine Steve could make himself available as executive producer.

Adam would be researcher.

Real Justice could be the gaffer boy.

Myster could bring his Cluedo set, though it may not be allowed through customs, so he may have to leave it behind, sadly.

David would be responsible for ensuring the entire production is Covid-safe.  Thanks David.

Joking aside, I've no idea what you mean.  I work on building sites.  I suppose if Louis wants somebody to build a set - perhaps a mock court, for a fresh cross-examination of Julie Smerchanski - I could help with it.  I could knock up some nice mahogany for Louis and his team, with a beautiful lacquer finish.

Not apropos, but I've always been a fan of his father, Paul Theroux, and his travel books.  They're brilliant.  He wrote two books about train journeys across Asia, Japan and Russia - fascinating stuff, really.  But his son is a plastic Oxbridge funt, sorry.

You sent me a pm??? Do you forget?

Your research so far has been on point although we have come to different conclusions.  I have previously warned you who not to trust haven’t I. There are people on this forum who are pathological liars. If you want to cross reference any facts I would suggest Ngb1066 or Mark Williams Thomas or even Simon McKay

Sorry, I sent you a PM because I am (or was) privately researching the case.  It's just something I do, sort of a hobby I suppose.  I'm not a professional researcher or journalist/broadcaster or anything like that.

I think somebody does need to write a proper book about the case, marshalling all the evidence, but it may be too late in the day now.
