and I come back to the point again that it's remarkable nobody reported a sighting of Andrew following the alleged Pizza Hut visit

It's equally remarkable that no one reported seeing him prior to the Pizza Hut visit or nothing was recorded on CCTV.

I'm not sure. It looks as if he's heading outside, possibly to stretch his legs after sitting for two hours on the train. I think had he wanted to take the Underground he wouldn't need to exit the station.

Let's say he's exiting the building, he's outside on the main street working out how to proceed to the store to buy his new play station. Looking confused and lost, the perfect time to be approached by someone to be asked if he's lost and would like some help.

But he was familiar with London. King's X to Oxford Street is quite straightforward.

It would be by tube but not bus. Maybe he was heading to the tube.

I can remember back in the 70s & early 80s growing up in the UK in Sussex, & living in London for a few years, it was common knowledge that Tottenham Court Road was the place to go, for purchasing discounted stereo hi fi systems, electronic gadgets etc.

So, all Andrew had to do was walk out of Kings Cross Station & turn right into Euston Road, keep walking until he got to the Northern end of Tottenham Court Road.
Oxford street begins at the southern end of Tottenham Court Road; he could have walked down the whole of T/C road checking out the best prices, then strolled into Oxford Street had a bite to eat at Pizza Hut prior to purchasing the Play Station.
I would imagine anyone serving him in the store selling the Play Station would remember him, given his distinctive tea shirt.

Someone could have initiated a conversation with him and lured him back to a nearby property.

Just 2 stops on the tube to Warren Street at the Northern end of Tottenham Court Road, or 3 stops to Oxford Circus, (Oxford street) then only 2 stops to Charing Cross if he decided to visit his Grandparents in Chislehurst/ Sidcup.

edit: it looks as though you have to exit Kings Cross Station to walk to Kings Cross St. Pancras tube station, a 452-metre walk.

Maybe I've got this wrong, and he could have doubled back, but wouldn't he have come out of the exit and seen the Underground to his right hand side? https://showmethejourney.com/travel-info-and-tips/how-to-travel-between-king-s-cross-and-other-london-stations/

I think he would be familiar with Kings Cross, so I'm guessing he turned right and either got the tube or just walked the mile or so to Tottenham Court Road and then onto Oxford Street.

I'm not that convinced about the Pizza Hut sighting, there should be other CCTV to confirm this. But let's say he made it to T/C road and then Oxford Street he could easily have been picked up by a pedo, there is quite a large residential area in the locality.

But would he go back to the alleged paedophile's flat? Maybe it's a case of Lewis Daynes, who enticed him back to his accommodation. But there's no sighting of him travelling on public transport, no shopkeeper came forward to say he'd sold him the new Playstation model.

I could see Andrew checking out the gig venues at the Brixton and Carling Academies. If he walked along Regent's Canal and was abducted by someone who owned a houseboat. Or he got into a vehicle parked in an underground car park not covered by CCTV. One would be looking for someone who worked irregular hours, a plausible individual to a youngster with a knowledge of Heavy Metal bands.

That's my criminal profile, anyhow.

And also, with the sighting in Pizza Hut (be it close to his destination) you'd think they would have remembered his distinctive Tea Shirt.

Almost back to square one, he disappeared shortly after leaving Kings Cross Station and walking down Euston Road. At least now there is a very plausible reason for his trip to London.
