Hi

I have decided to take up photography and need advice!

I currently have an ok ish compact camera but want something better!!

I dont want to go for a DSLR at the moment incase i get bored so im looking for a bridge camera!

Budget of £300ish!

Would like one with a good zoom, lots of settings to play with and capable of producing macro shots!

Ive seen one i like the fuji HS10 so any feedback if anyone owns this camera would be great!!

My favourite was my big, old Cannon with cost me around £350. I've just bought  a new, big old camera just like my Cannon and for around the same price, but don't how well the pics will come out yet. I'll let you know.

Dear Joolz,

If you're going to be filming a moving subject, just make sure there isn't shutter delay, which is quite common on cheaper cameras, especially the Fuji's. Basically this means that as you see the subject and then press the button, it can be upto a second before the camera actually takes the picture, which is obviously a pain in the arse when filming, say, a racing car or aeroplane moving at speed.

I bought an Olympus E500 for £250 off of ebay, brand new from hong Kong and is a wonderful entry level DSLR with interchangable lenses.

Hope this helps.

Kindest,

Vic

Hi Vidvic

It has a feature where you half press the button and it starts to record then when you want to take the photo you press it fully and it splits the recording into stills so you can choose the best one.

Startung a photography course in september so need one suitable for that.

Thanks for the advice! Will check ebay!!

joolz, I don't know much about photography, but I
think it's great that you are starting a Photography course
in September.
Good luck to you. :)
