By the evening of Thursday 3rd May 2007, time was beginning to run out for the McFlies, because on the following day (they were due to fly out of Portugal back to the UK). Bit by bit the seconds, minutes and hours which passed brought them closer and closer to the inevitable point of reporting Madeleine as a missing person / child had to be dealt with!
How were the McFly parents going to try and get away with potentially causing their daughters death?
Alone, it would have been nigh on impossible to pull such a deception off. But supported by several colleagues they settled for an abduction scenario!
Otherwise, the McFlies were done for, they were toast...
They settled for the abduction narrative because there was a good chance that their daughters death (if discovered) might be put down to the actions of the would be abductor, and not the McFly parents, and those who helped them...
What better story could the McFlies introduce than the one of an abduction scenario, claiming that by 8.30pm on that last evening, all the McFly siblings, all three of them were snugly tucked up in bed, and that within the next half an hour or so, Gerry McFly himself had returned to the family apartment to do a personal check on the three siblings, his visit designed to leave a lasting impression in the minds of the police and the general public at large, that Madeleine had been safe and out of harm's way by the time of Gerry McCanns visit at around 9.05pm...
What a truly remarkable coincidence, that Russell O'Brien's daughter, was supposedly taken ill on this very same night, and that Jane Tanner should be returning to check on O'Briens daughter, and she claims to see Madeleine McCanns abductor carrying off Madeleine whilst Gerry McCann is stood talking to his friend Jez in the street somewhere between Jane Tanner's position in the street, and the would be abductor walking across the roadside junction with Madeleine in his arms...
Then, at 9.30pm, Matt Oldfield and Russell O'Brien offer to check on the McFly siblings to save their legs which is readily agreed to, Kate McFly informing Oldfield and O'Brien that the patio door on the pool side of the apartment was open, and unlocked, suggesting that they could enter the McFlies apartment 5A whilst doing their check...
Russell O'Brien - who's daughter was close to death inside his own apartment, checking on the three McFly siblings about half an hour before Kate eventually goes to her apartment and discovers Madeleine to be gone!
I mean, what s truly remarkable sequence of the alleged events, which had purportedly unraveled at the apartment block, and back and forth between the tapas restaurant between 8.30pm and 10pm...
The McFlies, Madeleine, Russell O'Brien, his sick daughter, Jane Tanner and the abductor carrying off Madeleine's body, and the coup de grace, the point at which Kate McFly sets the scene for Madeleine's perceived abduction narrative, 'they've taken her, they've taken her' and 'Madeleines gone', she blurted out as she ran back to the tapas bar restaurant, and leaving the other two little siblings back at apartment 5A, steel window shutter raised, bedroom window slid open and curtains flailing, both vulnerable and exposed at the mercy of 'THEM'...
