Jones and Jones had visited Jeremy at his cottage in nearby Goldhanger on the late afternoon of the 9th August 1985 asking him whether or not a silencer had been attached to the end of the guns barrel which he had handled on the evening of the tragedy?
What appears to be a consequence of what Jeremy told the police at that time, was that Anthony Pargeters rifle and his silencer was returned back to the farmhouse later that evening, in particular, handed back to Peter Eaton (a registered firearms dealer) the 'Pargeter rifle' and 'his silencer', which Peter Eaton subsequently returned to the farmhouse...
Hence, why on the following day (10th August 1985) that David Boutflour was able to find or discover the silencer in the gun cupboard in the downstairs office, where it had not been present at all beforehand - it is almost certain, as certain as anybody can be that Anthony Pargeters rifle and his silencer was the gun that was captured in one of the police photographs taken in the nearby kitchen on the first morning of the police investigation...
