Which Photograph was taken first, Mystery?

At the center of this cover up, is the question, which of these two crime scene photographs was taken first?

How can a crucial piece of wooden butt from the Bamber rifle, not be there on the kitchen floor next to the eat cushions, and then suddenly appear there, by the time of the next photographs?
