You've done some excellent work on the effects of Haldol and withdrawal from it. Well done! As you rightly say, the effects and withdrawal effects of this drug are very worrying. I would think that prescription of Haldol 25 years ago was on a less sophisticated basis than it is today. I wonder if the problems associated with Haldol and its withdrawal were ever mentioned during the trial?

I haven't seen the post which states "as long as I have a shadow", can I ask you where that is?

In actual fact some of the drugs they use to subdue some of the mentally ill are so strong that they could cause mental illness themselves or make a condition worse. Unfortunately they still do not know much about the human mind to be able to treat it effectively. Much of what they prescribe is experimental. It hasn't been long since they ceased using electric shock treatment. This method was used on mental patients for many years and has damaged many people. They often said things like "It seems to work, but we don't know why". The truth is it didn't work and many people were put in mental hospitals with their nervous systems shattered.

That could very well be the case. It happens all the time, and not only in connection with mental illness. My own, very beautiful sister was a victim of that. She kept going to doctors complaining about stomach problems, kept getting sent home without even and examination of ANYTHING. This went on for years and finally she was sent to some examinations at a hospital. What happened there? A doctor made quite a direct PASS at her, she went home.
She got worse, and FINALLY she was diagnozed with a terrible cancer. She did receive monetary compensation from the state - but we lost her. She died.
And this is by far not the only example of this I know about! It is SO common. Beware of those docs. Most of them are no good!

I know about 'passes' by doctors.  When I was 18 in hospital, I apparently had a 'T.U.B.E.' ie  a 'Totally Unnecessary Breast Examination'.  That is how doctors themselves refer to it!  I found this out a few years ago when I briefly dated a doctor and told him about it.  I was so naive at the time but bewildered by it, which is why I mentioned this to my friend.  So they are aware it goes on.  Picking on the vulnerable as per usual.

I've not heard of TUBE but I know Doctors do have lots of codes they use amongst themselves. For example, if you find you have "NFT" written on your chart, they intend to let you die!

I am so sorry to hear about your sister, abs, what a sad and dreadful thing to happen. I agree with you about the medical profession, a series of doctors once refused to accept that I was ill until I collapsed and had to be admitted to hospital with severe pneumonia. I have little trust in doctors as a result

I've not heard of TUBE but I know Doctors do have lots of codes they use amongst themselves. For example, if you find you have "NFT" written on your chart, they intend to let you die!

i had a tube, i was only 17 and carrying my first child, the dr told me to strip naked, being young and naive i did, he examined me then i went home and thought nothing of it until a few yrs ago i heard it on the news he had been struck off for assaulting (sexually)  his patients for yrs.
