I can see the corners of the cover but the pages with the stain can't be seen. You;re assuming they would be dog eared.

No, not the pages, the cover. You can how heavily creased it is (dog eared). There's no sign of that in the other photo.

It's a great pity that there's not more info on the note in the Bible. It was resting on Sheila's arm so it must have been bloodstained unless it was moved there when the blood on her arm was dry.

The cover isn't visible on the upturned bible. Where are you expecting to see creases?

Would anyone think that June had been alive after Sheila had died ? Just a thought. Or were their deaths simultaneous ?

Is that version of the Bible arranged differently to other Bibles? I don't have that version but in other Bibles Psalm 51 is less than halfway through the Bible, whereas in the photo of the Bible face down it looks like it's open at a page much more than halfway through.

Give or take a few minutes of each other.

Yes,more towards the centre.
I don't have one those Bibles, only an ancient one.

I also remember seeing a black one which had illustrations in it. This was when I first joined the forum in 2012,but haven't seen a pic of it since.

It is the side which is creased. The top right-hand corner of the front cover is very creased, so when the Bible is face up, that would be the top left-hand corner.

I think it's just hard to tell in the photo because the pages are rucked up so much.  It just looks to me like the page at which it's open is more than halfway through.

The " well-worn/used " Bible with the items inside would have been the one which June took to church with her,but what happened to the notes and doily in the one photographed ?

Exactly - that's what I want to know because I want to know if there's blood on the note.

I know and you can't see the cover on that side.
