Ian Huntley/Jeremy Bamber: Similarities.

There were several similarities here -

Both Huntley & Bamber said prior to being arrested, they were the last person to see the victims alive.

Neither person had to tell the police they were the last person to see them alive.

Both killed children.

Both still protest innocence to varying degrees. Bamber as 'not guilty', Huntley saying both murders were accidential.

Both were successful in some areas of the cover up.

Both made big mistakes in other areas of the cover up.

Both told their girlfriends.

Both had girlfriends who were part of the prosecution.

Both were keen to engage with the police prior to being charged.

Both were keen to engage with the media prior to being charged.

Both knew the victims beforehand.

Huntley & Carr were very successful in cleaning his property & car. The police could not find any forensic links. He also disposed of the bodies over 40 miles away & then changed his car tyres.

However Huntley then unbelievably left the girls tops in a nearby bin, which had his incriminating evidence on.

Huntley also didn't need to tell the police he had seen the girls around the time they disappeared & did not have to tell Carr.

Similar to Bamber, Huntley engaged with the police. Asking for updates & giving them false leads. He also attended village meetings with the public & police.

Maxine Carr gave Huntley an alibi and as such deserved to rot in prison for many years, not obtain a new life in Sweden.

Another similarity is they were both opportunistic crimes. Huntley being spontaneous in using his opportunity.

Both crimes were avoidable but committed due to the choice of the individual.

Both risked all of that for warped & twisted reasons.

maxine car was in no way involved in the murders.

if jeremy is guilty ypu cant say the same about julie mugford.

ones was supposed to be for money and the other one was a sex crime.
