I hope not. The whole thing was so horrible - child porn. And we'd been visiting him for years, with our 3 small daughters. I dread the day he's released.

He was also a school governor.

Sorry, abs, totally serious. David Charles Pates of Worcester. Over 11,000 images on his computer. He'd hidden the computer in his shed, and the last time we visited him, my youngest daughter realised what he'd done and told the police where to find it. It was a very bad time.

Good grief!
So its true what I say about "pillars of their communities" - they are always the worst!!
I will keep your uncle in mind the next time I hear someone describe the former miss Mugford as a pillar of her community.  ;)

Edit to add - I hope nothing happened to your daughters!! This must have been so awful!

Oh my God, nugs, that's Uncle Dave. How did you find that? Thank you (in a way) for putting that up. I haven't been able to find anything about him recently, and the police (who were really kind and helpful at first) won't tell me anything now. Christ, that's a shock.

He's lost some weight.  :P

The vicar that did my wedding was convicted of child pornography!

Makes me cringe as he christened our daughter also and every christening photo has him holding her on them!

I think it means my wedding wasnt legitimate but hubby thinks its wishful thinking!

Seriously, nugs, thank you. Now I'm over the shock of seeing his face, the relief in knowing he won't be trying to contact us again is immense. The police told us about the book he wrote - it featured my daughters, and he'd used their school photos, that he asked us for every year. My husband and I felt such idiots. He was a member of a caravan club, and he used to organise the childrens' activities. Not one parent guessed what he was up to.

He was such a sad bastard, but we felt sorry for him after his mum (my great aunt, I think, though we called her Aunty Bet and him Uncle Dave) died, so we'd visit him and take him treats and listen to his crap. He took my eldest daughter (13 at the time) on a caravan holiday once, but nothing happened to her, thank God. Mind you, she did judo and was a tough cookie at the time. The girl that he raped was mentally ill, and had lost her mum, and was getting horribly bullied at school. When the police visited us to tell us what was going on, one of the ghastly pictures they showed us was of her. I'll never forgive myself. So, so sorry to go on about this. It's so ironic that I've learnt what happened to him on this forum.

I can't tell you, Smiffy. We've had long, heated discussions about what we'd do if he turned up again. The last I heard, he was helping other prisoners to write letters home, and was such a model prisoner himself that he wouldn't serve his full sentence. I could kiss that judge. For once, justice has been done. I will never forget the photos that we were made to look at, to see if we could identify the children.
