Why it took Liz Rimington almost 10 years to reveal this to an author and not the authorities nor at trial back in 1986, is in my opinion, because such a conversation never happened.

This is a fair point, but one is entitled to look for patterns of behaviour which I'm afraid do form a damning picture.
