  • The facts leading to the Simon Hall confession
It tends to be difficult for someone to think objectively even if they've been asked to. Someone could easily explain a lack of objectivity by saying that they were under stress, had personal involvement which allowed them to be misled quite easily, or various other circumstances of that nature. However, saying "I had been brainwashed" seems to indicate a relatively extreme situation.  That's why I asked Stephanie about it.

I can see that from your posts  ::)

With regards me, passed tense Reader.

Does that mean you don't know what SH's exam results at school were?

Yep, when he died most of his belongings were returned to me, which included a folder containing his school certificates.

Taff believed Bamber was innocent.

As the head of the investigation he would know Nevill had called Chelmsford police from WHF.

He would have told the relatives about the call.  Then that would be the end of it for them.

Regarding pointers towards Sheila's culpability - unfortunately the relatives have remained tight-lipped about what information was imparted by DCI Jones in the early stages.  The details do not warrant an entry in their 'notes' either.

It's probably not true that if they were told of a call from Nevill, the matter would have rested there.  Jeremy's uncle would have seen this as merely representing another barrier to be overcome, in pining the crime on his nephew.

This is the exact view he took, upon being informed by police that all relevant doors and windows had been found secured from the inside; with no signs of having been tampered with.

I suppose the only explanation is Taff Jones did tell the relatives & Bamber about Nevill's call.

However the relatives still decided to proceed with attempting to frame an innocent man. And Bamber didn't believe it was worthy of bringing up until 2010.

He knew that Neville had called the police, hence why 'Taff' told those who needed to know, that he believed Sheila had forced Neville at the point of the gun barrel of the rifle being pressed into the back of his neck to make the call to Jeremy! The presence of corresponding marks on the back of his neck being consistent with the end of the rifle barrel minus the silencer being used to prod his neck! It was sufficient for 'Taff' just to mention this, without the need to mention Neville's call to police, which followed on from his call to Jeremy! At that stage, it's reasonable to conclude that Sheila's gun had ran out of bullets and Neville took the opportunity to quickly phone the police after pushing Sheila away from him! The calling of the police by Neville at 3.26am, coincided with Jeremy trying to contact Neville at the farmhouse, only to be met by a constant engaged tone!

The other thing worthy of note was that when Bews, Myall and Jeremy went to do a recce' of the farmhouse, all the lights were switched on, and all windows closed and locked! Yet, by the time the first group of firearm officers arrived at the scene an hour later, some lights had been switched off, and the fan lite main bedroom window was then open!

So, who had been switching lights off inside the farmhouse, and who had opened the fan lite window in the main bedroom?

Somebody must have still been alive inside the farmhouse for these activities to have occurred!

Why hasn't the fingerprint results from the examination of light switches and door handles, or window catch latch been disclosed to the defence yet despite over three decades already gone?

Not Jeremy, that's for sure!!!

I suppose cops and those in the guilty fan club would say that these were just a 'trick of lights', and 'a trick of windows'...

Yet, how coincidental that, Bews, Myall and Jeremy's sighting of the figure in the bedroom, should occur at the self same window at which (a) someone who had opened the fan light window after their sighting, and that (b) the only rifle found to be present upstairs was photographed leaning against that self same window (23), prior to the said rifle being then photographed upon and with Sheila's body (25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33)!!!

June Bambers blood trail passes from right to left across the main bedroom window, and back again, as viewed from the vantage point of Bews, Myall and Jeremy in the grounds outside!

Coincidence?

Maybe June Bamber was the figure that Bews, Myall and Jeremy had seen! Maybe, June Bamber opened the main bedroom fanlight after Bews, Myall and Jeremy had scampered!

Then of course, there was the crazy handwritten note found upon Sheila Caffells bedside drawer (exhibit 'DRH/42' ) - why didn't the police tell the relatives or Jeremy about its existence? It was arguably one of the most significant exhibits in the entire case, but cops kept quite about it! A copy of the note discovered by myself several years ago! To date, as far as I know, Essex police had not yet formally told the defence team that such a note existed, other than to say it had the exhibit mark of DRH42!!!

To date, as far as I know, Essex police had not yet formally told the defence team that such a note existed, other than to say it had the exhibit mark of DRH42!!!

The prosecution kept the existence of Sheila's note from the jury, and the court which tried the matter! Why wasn't the note fingerprinted? Why can't the original be tested for the presence of Sheila's DNA?

Additionally, what now becomes apparent, is that Jeremy's call to PC West (3.36am) was not recorded on audio tape, but that the call to Bonnett when he received Nevilles 3.26am call was thus recorded! This is the reason why the prosecuting authorities refused to disclose the 3.26am audio of Nevilles call under the pretense that it had been destroyed after 28 days because police claimed that it was of no value because Jeremy was not officially a suspect until 8th September 1985, by which the 28 day period had expired! We now know that this claim was a bogus one because Jeremy Bamber never spoke directly with Malcom Bonnett, he only spoke to PC West! This strongly suggests that the contents of Bonnetts 3.26am log relate to Neville Bambers call, and that the audio recording was an audio record of 'that' 3.26am call!!!

Neville Bambers call must have been received by Malcom Bonnett at 3.26am, in order for an audio record to have been made of 'that' call! It can't have been made of Jeremy's 3.36am call to PC west, because it was PC West who spoke to Bonnett not Jeremy!

The only audio recording made of any call by a 'Mr Bamber', therefore have been of Neville Bambets call, not Jeremy Bambers call! Furthermore,  a record exiats qhich confirms that Essex police still had a copy of that audio recording in the file long after it was supposedly already destroyed!

We are suddenly getting ever closer to the truth in this case! -'Taff' Jones knew about the existence of the audio recording of Neville Bambers call (3.26am) to Malcom Bonnett! He also knew that Jeremy had only spoken to PC West, not to Malcom Bonnett! He knew that there could not have existed an audio recording of Jeremy's call to PC West. He knew all of these things and he didn't feel it was necessary to inform the relatives or Jeremy regarding these features of the evidence. This was something DCI 'Taff' Jones kept up his sleeve, and why he believed Jeremy's account and he qas certain of Jeremy's innocence! I have to say that I believe that Jeremy had nothing whatsoever to do with his sisters death! I don't need to keep repeating how I know she died after being shot downstairs in a struggle, and upstairs on the bedroom with the rifle which cops had brought from a first floor window to her body during the performance of 'informatives'. Save to say, that these 'informatives' commenced at around 9am, and conluded at around 10am! During this hour long period Sheila was sgot with use of the anshuzt rifle cops had brought from the window of the box room intending to see if it could be suggested that the solitary shot in her throat had been caused by that rifle upstairs in the bedroom even though they knew she had originally been shot downstairs in the kitchen! This is what really took place. Sheila was shot and killed by police when activities police were engaged in during that hour long training exercise between 9 and 10am! This is the reason why cops refuse to disclose any information about who took part in these 'informatives'! But I can tell you all with 100% certainty, that it involved Harris, Gibbons, Wright, Jones, Montgomery and Woodcock with others including DC Oakey! This motley crew qere responsible for Sheila Caffells death on the bedroom floor at around 9.13am! Jeremy Bamber did not shoot or kill his sister! He did not shoot her during a struggle in the kitchen at the time armed police forced entry intending to bri g the seige to an end! She wasn't shot with use of the anshuzt rifle downstairs in the kitchen, how could she have been shot with that rifle in the kit hen when since 7.15am it was resting againat a first floor window, as verified by officers jeapes and Brown!

Now that significant pieces of the jigsaw are falling into place I believe its time for the guolters amongst us, to realise that Neville Bambers call to Malcom Bonnett at 3.26am, exposes the down right dishonesty in the prosecution camp, which presented the argument during the trial, that if Neville Bambers daughter had 'gone berserk' and had she 'got hold of one of his guns', that Neville would have called the police! Well, we now know he did! We now know that any audio recording made by Malcom Bonnett of a 3.26am distress call to him was made by Neville Bamber, and not Jeremy Bamber because Jeremy never spoke directly to Malcom Bonnett, he only spoke to PC West. Bonnett would hardly record what PC West told him via the internal landline exchange system!!!

Everything points to Neville Bamber making the 3.26am call to Malcom Bonnett, and to an audio recording of this call being made!

With this at the forefront of everyones mind, it then becomes clear why somebody got PC West to introduce the confusion regarding the time he received Jeremy's call (3.36am, not 3.26am)! There is no doubt that the prosecution and its witnesses were trying to 'pull a fast one' with the timing of jeremys call to PC West by trying to change it to 3.26am, from 3.36am! They intended to merge both of these different calls together as the same call, simply by reference to the timings of both calls, not the content of both versions of each call! This is why the prosecution did not disclose the two message log contsnts side by side to the defence team, or to the cpurt which tried the matter! The sly prosecution were only seeking to alter the timing of Jeremy's call to PC West, from 3.36am, to 3.26am! If the contents of the two message logs had been disclosed properly to all interested parties, I am afraid to say the game would have been up, there and then for the prosecution and its police officer witnesses!

The game is now up, because of the mention by Malcom Bonnett of audio calls to his workstation being recorded, whereas no such audio recording spoken about by PC West with regards to Jeremy's call to him at 3.36am!

So, now that we are able to evidentially discriminate one of the two different calls (3.26am) than the other (3.36am) simply by reference to one being recorded on audio (3.26am), as opposed to the other (3.36am) which was not, I think the case for Sheila going berserk with one of Neville Bambers guns, is clearly made out and profoundly true!

'Sheila has got the gun (Neville Bamber to Jeremy), at around 3.25am, and 'Daughter gone bersek' and 'Daughter has got hold of one of my guns' (Neville Bamber to Malcom Bonnett) at 3.26am, versus, 'Daughter has gone berserk', (Neville to Bonnett at 3.26am), and 'Sheila has got the gun' (Jeremy to PC West) at 3.36am, now showing clear daylight with regard to who called who, and when!

Since it can now be proven beyond reasonable doubt that Neville Bamber did contact Malcom Bonnett at 3.26am, and that Neville Bamber told Bonnett that 'my daughter has gone berserk', and 'My daughter has got hold of one of my guns', that Sheila Caffell really must have been going berserk, and that shs really must have got hold of one of Neville Bambets guns!!!

Sheila going berserk in possession of one of Neville Bambers guns now being believable,  we can all picture in our minds eye, this young vulnerable adult
pacing around the farmhouse in possession of what turns out to be, (if we are to believe the ballistic experts opinion) a rifle that all the 25 bullets were loaded into, and fired out of, the same anshuzt rifle which by 7.15am was resting against a first floor window, and which by 10am, it was being photographed in the possession of Sheila's body (photo's 25 to 33, inclusive) after the said rifle had already been photographed leaning against the inside of the main bedroom window (23)! Now, its a perfectly simple question that the police need to 'fess up' to, 'How did the anshuzt rifle get from the box room window, to the main bedroom window, and then onto Sheila Caffells body, if Jeremy Bamber had shot and killed his sistwr there on the bedroom floor, and he having staged his sisters death scene there on that bedroom floor, with use of the anshuzt rifle, and a bible, before armed police forced thete way into the farmhouse at around 7.30am? How exactly had Jeremy managed to do all of these things prior to police getting into the farmhouse? On another footing, how had he managed to shoot his sister downstairs in the kitchen at 7.37am, with a rifle that was still resting against a first floor box room window? How had Jeremy managed to do this? On another view, how could Jeremy have not only shot Sheila on the main bedroom floor after 8.10am, but staged her death there too once the body count had changed to 4 from 3 shortly thereafter!!!

He couldn't have, and he didn't!

If a silencer was fitted to the barrel of the anshuzt rifle at the time Sheila sustained the fatal second shot, then police knew about the use of a silencer from the first morning!!!

It was not in police interest to tell anybody about Neville Bambers call to police at 3.26am! It was sufficient simply for them to have known that Neville had called! Please note, why during the entire period until the commencement of the trial in October 1986, that nobody made any fuss at all about Neville having not phoned the police, of course he did, and the audio recording of Nevilles call which was answered by Bonnett confirms the contents of the 3.26am log Bonnett wrote out! Jeremy never spoke directly to Bonnett, so Bonnett could not have made an audio recording of any conversation with him!
