Nugs everything is straight forward with the photos.

Bamber found them and tried to sell them for money. Are you surprised after he had killed all his family to inherit ?

Think about it......did the relatives have keys to all of the safes in WHF..... ? Did Jeremy have keys to the safes being the only family member left?!  Why would the relatives be even looking for photos they knew nothing about? Why would Jeremy on finding them want them.....to sell!

The relatives or Basil Cock had not been to Sheila's flat first. If they had they may have missed the photos or not bothered with them.

Bamber was getting items to have them valued so he could sell them to Sotherby's. So would have no hesitation in selling pictures of Sheila, of which he could have got good money for.

There is no reason for a retired crime journalist to say on a documentary, 20 years after conviction, that Bamber tried to sell explicit photos of Sheila. And no reason why he would make himself available to testify and perjure himself in 1986.

Are there reasons for Bamber to lie about this ? Several.

If he is then could this have affected his relationship with his religious parents. Could this be why he hated Gresham's Boarding School.....Brett Collins stated JB was abused at school when 11 years old. ...and went on to blame his parents and have Gay affairs.  If JB is bisexual, and hadn't 'come out' could he have become depressed at not being able to lead his life the way he wanted to?? Clare Powell's book tells us after the murders JB dressed up in his dead sisters clothes.
Was Jeremy bisexual, or more pertinently in my view did his sexual proclivities condition his actions in the slaying of five individuals?  After Jeremy's insecurity and loneliness throughout his youth he was left feeling that worth was measured in monetary terms, an idea reinforced when he offered lifts to Sixth Form Chelmsford students and earned their warmth and gratitude in return.

What is more difficult to discern is whether Jeremy ever loved anyone in this life, and we could even consider whether his natural parents would have been the recipient of his love had he never been given up for adoption.  Was Suzette any more preferable to Julie, Brett, the BOAC air stewards or the threesomes he indulged in at Bourtree Cottage during this relatively brief period of untrammelled licentiousness, or was this surfeit of hedonism engendered by the strict school rules of Gresham's and the lack of opportunities formerly at home? Did Jeremy deliberately reject June's moral code, remembering perhaps part of her tutelage on sex education when he told girlfriends "let's make babies", realizing the import of those words only when Suzette failed him in this regard?  Did he know what love meant as he bought Julie chocolates and roses at the Bridal Suite of the Hilton Hotel, or did he simply wish to impress if not with his body then with his wallet?

Brett Collins represents the chancer, the predatory homosexual who would sweet talk to fulfil his sexual desires, confined only to men, and whilst Jeremy had the same lustful impulses with Anji Greaves and now the wherewithal to indulge them he did not deliberately set out to attract the same sex, though flattered by the attention he received, so desperately lacking at home. He moved from blonde to brunette back to blonde, but it was Julie who remained the stooge throughout. He used Brett for his antiques knowledge, but that was the limit to any mental involvement with the character, and with Nevill and June now dead as soon as the family heirlooms were valued his usefulness was coming to an end.

I feel inclined to put a question mark on some of it, Steve -as in I'd like to discuss it more deeply- but I'm delighted to see that you haven't lost your literary flair.

But the point is Jane-is this relevant or is it muckraking? Are we justified in discussing Sheila's private life as an indicator of her mental state and the likelihood that this drove her to crime, or is there simply no connection between the two?

I have to say in Romeo's defence she has never muckraked in the past. She is probably filling a void which has existed on the site since its inception.

Steve, I did go into it in more depth in an earlier post. I DO believe that it's possible that, at some point, there had been a relationship between Jeremy and Brett. However, I DON'T believe it had any bearing on what happened at WHF. I think Brett may have been an opportunist who saw a situation he could exploit.

There couldn't have been anything to report because RWB had hired a private detective to " try and catch the pair of them at it ".How desperate was that ?

It was the same with MI5 which had Moreshead Mansions bugged, but it was all a rather sordid episode..

Thanks Steve appreciated.... I have to say, I wouldn't waste my time on here by 'muckraking' as you rightly say.  I have had many friends who are homosexuals, and have enjoyed their company, not so many bisexuals, but I'm open minded enough to live and let live.

I posted the question in the first place because I was looking up on Brett Collins and wondered if he had any influence over a 25 year old JB. Like others on this site I have my own opinions, but that's not to say I don't like to hear other opinions when given, in other words....sharing ideas......guilty or not guilty.

Luckily I'm pretty hard skinned so some of the posters comments on here just bounced off.  :) ;)
