saying 'the bed' insinuates On the bed imo

Then you would have made the same mistake that Ann did.

I'm slightly puzzled here with AE's COLP ( page 7 ) statement in 1991 where she says that she tried ringing Jeremy, but found his phone engaged. When ?

I don't understand why people are confused about this point. If you were to describe the position of an object located either side of a bed but not actually ON the bed, would you just say it was on the left or right of the bed. You wouldn't mention the floor, so clearly, the Police officer who told Ann that Sheila was on the left side of the bed assumed that she was physically on the bed (if repeating what he had been told by another offcer and hadn't seen the scene for himself), or Ann assumed that is what the police officer meant.

He does not appear to have said anything about the side of the bed. That is a different debate concerning what Dr Craig meant when he said that Sheila was on "the far side of the bed".

Here again is what Ann Eaton says in her statement made to the City of London Police.

“It was the policeman DC Mick Clark I think, who told me Sheila and Aunt June were on the bed with a gun between them and a bible on Sheila’s Chest.”

It's unambiguous.

The main reason for all these so-called " misinterpretations " was that AE hadn't had a clue of what had been going on at WHF. She hadn't even known that Sheila and the boys were going to be staying there, for starters,so how would she have known, word for word, just what Sheila's health had been since Christmas 1984,which was the last time that any contact between them took place ?
Out of the blue,AE had received a letter from Sheila while being treated at the clinic/hospital in 1985,but because AE had no conception of the meaning of the letter and obviously found it of no significance, but at the same time would possibly have found it " odd " that her cousin had penned the words that " she'd found God ".
If AE had known that Sheila was being treated, then the letter would have had more interest and significance than it did and she MIGHT have put two and two together as most of us would have.

How ironic that a family conference had been organised regarding Sheila's mental health,on the night before the murders, via Pamela Boutflour and Betty Howie.
This had been part of an action report which had been drawn up by EP. ( Withheld  material)

A family conference regarding Sheila's mental health!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FFS!!! Lookout. What the HELL had her health, physical, mental or emotional, to do with the rest of the family even if they KNEW about her mental state, which they clearly didn't, as asserted by Colin.

It's no use getting agitated,as unless EP are lying ? the action taken for this conference was logged as action 1212-T/ST Betty Howie.
It was an involvement between June and Pamela,as I imagine that Pam knew more than she was letting on because afterall,June was her sister and probably the only person she could safely confide in.
RWB could possibly have been told certain things but chose to ignore them ( such as the fostering ) because it would have thrown a spanner in the works against what he had in mind to do.

Nobody knew the full extent of Sheila's problem----------not even Jeremy !!
Neither do WE for that matter !!

It was no good after the " event " though. If AE had had anything about her she'd have taken all that was told to her,in consideration----------but she didn't and preferred to go her CHOSEN way !
